What is Kota Doria? Kota Doria is a very light, see-through, and breathable fabric featuring a signature square check pattern.
Key CharacteristicsThe “Khat” Pattern: The fabric has a distinctive graph-like checkered weave called khat. These tiny woven squares act like small windows that let air pass through.
Material Blend: It is traditionally woven using a mix of cotton (for strength and softness) and silk (for a smooth, shiny look). A standard weave often uses a ratio of 8 cotton threads to 6 silk threads.Light and Airy: Because of its open and fine weave, the material weighs almost nothing on the skin. This makes it very comfortable to wear in hot and humid weather.Origin and CraftsmanshipRajasthan Roots: The fabric comes from Rajasthan, India—primarily woven in a town called Kaithoon near Kota.
Handloom Tradition: Artisans weave it by hand on traditional pit looms. ❤️
