👑 CROWNED THROUGH GENERATIONS: Honoring Our Heritage. Celebrating Our Evolution.

This year’s runway will explore the evolution of braiding artistry… from ancestral artistry to modern expression hairstyles that carried stories of IDENTITY, STATUS, and COMMUNITY to today’s most celebrated braiding styles. To bring this vision to life, we’re partnering with some of the DMV’s most talented braiders, pairing each hairstyle with fashion that complements its story. Together, the garments and braids will become one complete work of art.

We’re looking for fashion designers who can create pieces inspired by this journey—designs that honor tradition while embracing innovation, individuality, and the creativity of today. If your work celebrates culture, craftsmanship, storytelling, or bold contemporary design, we’d love to see your vision on our runway.

IWINOSA Inc. is now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! 🙏🏾

Lately, I’ve been learning to take life a little more gently. For the longest time, I measured my progress against timelines I created in my own head. I thought certain things would happen sooner. I questioned delays. I replayed plans that didn’t unfold the way I imagined. But life has a beautiful way of putting everything together in its own time.

I’ve held on to this news for almost a month now (well, u already heard the news if you’re signed up to our newsletter🥰), simply sitting in gratitude and taking it all in. Looking back, I can see that every encounter, every season, every child I’ve had the privilege of teaching, and every “not yet” was preparing me for this moment.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to officially share that IWINOSA Inc. is now a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This isn’t just a big announcement… it’s a deeply significant one. It opens the door for me to serve my community in even greater ways through creative education, cultural arts, youth empowerment, autism-inclusive programs, and opportunities I’ve dreamed about for years. Every delay wasn’t a denial—it was preparation.

Here’s to giving ourselves grace, trusting God’s timing, and believing that what’s meant for us will always find its way. The work continues, and I couldn’t be more grateful for each of you and your continued support. 💜
