Another local collaboration!

Today I delivered a batch of custom Providence Bread tote bags.

My thing is this - a logo can go on almost anything. The real question is whether the product fits the business 🤔

Helping local businesses find merchandise that aligns with their brand, their customers, and their values is quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of this work.

These totes are made from organic cotton and certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means the materials and dyes have been independently tested for harmful substances and meet strict human-health safety standards.

For a bakery, these totes make a lot more sense than another throwaway promotional item.

If you stop into Providence Bread soon, pick one up for yourself. You deserve it! 👀

Started reading this yesterday and honestly… it’s hard not to feel frustrated once you start connecting the dots.

More people than ever are dealing with hormone issues, fertility struggles, autoimmune problems, skin reactions, chronic fatigue and other health concerns… meanwhile we’re surrounded daily by chemicals that nobody really questions anymore — including in the clothes touching our skin all day long.

Synthetic dyes. Chemical finishes. PFAS. Formaldehyde. Endocrine disruptors.

I never post using scare tactics. I just think transparency matters, especially when most of us wear these toxic fabrics for 12–16 hours a day without ever thinking twice about it. Honestly, I think small businesses with merch are eventually going to feel more pressure to understand this stuff too.

If you’ve bought something from Kindlewood, supported a brand partnership, stopped by a booth, or even just believe in what I’m building — I’ve got a small favor to ask.

If you have a minute, would you consider leaving a review on the page?

Reviews help more than people realize. Every conversation I have. Every order. Every review makes an impact on the growth of this small business.

I appreciate every one of you that’s supported this far.

Part of building Kindlewood has been studying the side of the apparel industry most people never see. Good and bad.

Greenwashing (lying). Supply chain games being played. "Sustainable" buzz words with absolutely no substance behind them —

I have no desire to follow trends or repeat what I'm being told because it sounds good.

This is also part of what I do for partnership clients. I do a lot of the research, sourcing, and homework so local businesses don’t have to blindly navigate it alone.

…But honestly, businesses should still be asking more questions too. 👀

Consider this part of the homework.

LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS:

Your logo isn’t the only thing customers are paying attention to anymore.

If your business is passionate about wellness, toxin-free living, sustainability, community, quality… customers are starting to expect your merchandise to reflect those values too.

YUP. YOUR MERCH IS PART OF YOUR BRAND NOW.

And a random 23-year-old today knows more about textiles, merch and supply chains than most brands expect. On social media, we're seeing creators breaking down things like fabric blends, cotton quality, PFAS, microplastics, GSM, OEKO-TEX®, etc.

The reality is though, most of us just want alignment and transparency, if we're going to spend our money with you 🤷🏾‍♂️

So, even if local businesses aren’t directly affected yet, customer expectations are ABSOLUTELY shifting in that direction.

That’s exactly why I’ve been shifting Kindlewood toward helping local businesses create merch that actually aligns with their brand values.

If you don't like trends, adapt now and you'll be ahead of it!

Respectfully, we've all seen the sad discounted merch rack by the register... 🤷🏾‍♂️

NOT because the business is bad.
Usually because the MERCH STRATEGY was.

Most businesses are forced to:

+ guess sizes 🤔
+ over-order inventory 💰🗑️
+ choose cheaper garments to lower risk 🤢
+ buy in bulk before knowing what customers actually want 🧐

That’s how you end up with leftover sizes, dead stock, and shirts nobody’s excited to wear.

I honestly think merch works better when it’s treated more intentionally:

+ smaller orders
+ better garments/fabric
+ customer preorder windows
+ more wearable designs
+ less plastic heavy clothing
+ less pressure to "stock a store"

People keep and wear your merch longer when it actually fits well, looks good and doesn’t scratch you like the one brand that rhymes with HILDAN 🤫

This is especially for local brands, cafés, bakeries, wellness spaces, gyms, and small businesses.

Less excess. Better quality.

Why not??

If you know a local business owner trying to figure merch out, send this to them 👀

Tomorrow's gonna be a good one! 👀 🍞
