I haven’t posted a lot lately because of two things: one, I’m just not completing projects lately. Homeschool planning is at the top of the priority list. Two, my machine may be on its last legs. I’m very glad I’ve gotten so many good years out of this machine, and extra grateful for a friend lending me her machine while I figure out whether to repair or replace mine.
This Singer is my first sewing machine and I’m having a hard time accepting that I might need to say goodbye, so in an attempt to say “I tried everything,” I’m taking it apart and giving it a good deep cleaning to see if I can spot anything that’s obviously wrong. 🤞🏽
ETA: An hour, a YouTube video, and some sandpaper and elbow grease later: I’ve fixed my machine! 🎉🎉🎉 I found the problem(a burr in my throat plate), sanded it down, and my machine is running beautifully again. HOORAY!
