Pinning this to the top so everyone can find it. :)
So here's how our buy-back program works and a little about how we do things:
Mondays and Tuesdays are our drop off days. You can bring in 3 walmart sack/grocery sack size bags per week of clothing or smaller items. We limit this so that we can make sure to get through everyone's items quickly, with the goal being we get through all of them by Wednesday and Thursday (depending on how many we get of course). After your items are processed you will receive a text message breaking down what we can buy/offer on your items. You can then accept or decline all or any part of it. Once you are ready, you can come get your payment or items at the store. You have the option for store credit or cash, either is fine! Some people prefer credit to go towards new sizes and some just want to take the cash. Each Sunday night we try to post about what items we are looking for or items we aren't needing just to help out. Right now we are focused on summer as far as seasons, but we will shift to buying fall shortly! :)
Bigger items such as pack n plays, strollers, activity centers, ride ons, bouncers, swings, etc. we buy as much as we can based on space. We always suggest messaging us before packing them up and bringing in. We will do our best to let you know roughly what we pay and if we have the space at the time. These obviously don't fit in a bag, and don't count as part of your 3 bag limit. It's strictly about whether we need and have the space for them.
Some questions we get a lot:
Car seats. We occasionally get a car seat or car seat stroller combo but we rarely buy them just because we have to know that they were not in any accidents and that's nearly impossible unless we personally know the family. I wish I had some great answer as to where to sell them, but I don't know of any resale stores that are buying them anymore. :(
Bottles and breast pumps. Unless they are new in package we don't buy just for hygiene reasons.
High end baby gear. This one is tricky, IF it's something that would be difficult to sell or something that falls out of typical price ranges, we will let you know what we can offer and tell you if we think you could do better selling yourself. We do NOT want anyone to feel ripped off, we want you to have as much money as possible whether it's through us or another means. In the end we believe that doing people fairly, means they trust us to know we have their family as our priority.
Cleaning. All items have to be cleaned/washed prior to bringing them in. This is for health reasons for everyone. We don't buy stained or torn items because we don't sell stained or torn items. Same goes for broken or missing pieces. We like to say we are somewhere between a retail store and a thrift store. We carry both new and gently used items. We wash and inspect everything prior to it hitting the floor. We take a lot of pride in being a nice place to shop for families BUT we focus on being an affordable option for everyone!
Cribs. We just don"t have the space for cribs or large furniture. We do our best to take strollers and bassinets and constantly rotate larger items but that's about max size. Sorry! If we can ever help you find a new home for those items we will, we just don't have floor space for them at the store.
We try to post pics on Wednesday just so people can see some of the items we have gotten in. Usually W/Th are busy so if you see something posted you have to have, come get it quick! Sometimes by the time we get to answering messages, the item is gone (aka bottle washer frenzy-lol!).
And lastly, if you have any other questions...feel free to reach out! :)
