Been a busy, busy start for me this year! But it's time to get back to work!

Check out these behind the scenes shots from my workshop. And there is plenty more where that came from. I think I've got enough fabric to fashion an army! I can't wait to try out some new products for you all. If you have any ideas for my next big creation, drop it in the comments!

I don't usually make posts like this , and I know it's long but I appreciate you taking the time to read.

38 years ago, the world lost one of its brightest shining lights. Nothing prepares you as a parent to lose a child. There is no guidebook to that kind of grief.

My daughter, Heather O'Rourke, shined bright in everything she did. She was a happy, loving child taken too soon. But one thing I am grateful for is that in her short time here with us, that light was shared with the world. Heather loved acting from a young age, you may know her from her famous role as Carol Anne in Poltergeist.

But to us she was a daughter and little sister.

Growing up in the spotlight let her share her life and talent with the world but when she passed, unfortunately conspiracies and rumors spread. I've worked the last few years on a documentary to ensure that her real story gets told to the truest extent possible. I am truly appreciative of everyone who helped me along the way and if any of my followers have a moment, please take an hour and a half to watch Heather's story "She Was Here", available February 24th on DVD and streaming on Amazon.

So grateful for my girls! My daughter and youngest granddaughter are out in Wellton, AZ today at the Wellton Artisans Festival at Coyote Wash golf course representing Cactus and Pine Sewing!

As a small business, family support is so important and I have no shortage of it! A huge thank you to and for lending a helping hand. Love you girls!

Are any of my followers enjoying a snowy holiday season yet?

Out here in the desert Southwest, we've been nothing but sunny skies. While it doesn't look like we'll be having a white Christmas anytime soon, it does make for some nice, bright pictures!

If you haven't started your Christmas shopping yet, I'd love to recommend one of my totes! These two new patterns are perfect for the horse lover in your life!

Uh-oh! Have I been so wrapped up in getting ready for the holiday season that I haven't spoken to you guys in two months?!

In my defense, I've been a very busy little bee getting stock together and creating new looks for all of you! Get ready to do some holiday shopping, and my totes are the perfect gift! Just check out these pics of some of my new "book-ish" fabrics (complete with a cameo by one of my fave pups!) made for .

As a reminder, all my totes are handmade by me and filled with love. Every bag is machine washable with plenty of pockets inside and out.

IT'S SPOOKY SEASON GUYS AND GALS!

October is right around the corner, which means ghosts, monsters, and spooky stuff! Check out my newest tote and fabrics just begging to be filled with candy!

I've been stocking up on new fabrics, and while my favorite holiday is Christmas, I have to admit these fabrics are making me embrace the darker side!

We are currently working on adding options to my Etsy and Shopify sites so that you may choose between fabrics so your patience there is appreciated but if you see a fabric you like from one of these posts, PLEASE simply send me a message and I am happy to make it up for you!

Happy Sunday all!!

I've been brainstorming new creations for you guys when my grand daughter told me all about and . And so, I set to work!

We did lots of shopping, and I'm excited to show off all the new options I have available for you all! I love reading and am so happy to share that with everyone.

That's right Etsy, you haven't seen the last of me!

I've opened up my Etsy shop again under my new name. You can find all the same items from my Shopify store (please give us time to transfer all products) with a new look!

For as long as I can remember, crafting and creating have been hobbies of mine. For a while, I turned sewing into a career, everything from hemming and tailoring clothing to sewing parachutes (yes, really!). I've always been happiest behind the machine.

Unfortunately, we can't do what we love forever, and for the majority of my adult life, I've been in regular 9 to 5 gigs.

A little over 5 years ago, my daughter and granddaughters encouraged me to try my hand at selling my creations. I was nervous, but with their help, I started Kreations by Kathleen.

As my first venture, we had a few bumps in the road, and eventually, I had to take a break, closing down my Etsy shop. Then, last year, I once again listened to those three girls and opened Cactus and Pine Sewing. A rebrand with new items and social media work.

And NOW, I am back on Etsy (link in bio!). Please feel free to check out my shop (we are still adding items), and as always, thank you for your support! Feel free to reach out with any new ideas, thoughts, or creations and let me create with you!

Totes are not the only thing I can create! One of my favorite things to do is come up with new ideas and create something unique to you!

My grand daughter requested a bag she could wear walking or hiking outside. She didn't want to wear a tote or backpack, so we came to the decision for a comfortable, durable sling bag!

She got to test it out today, and the reviews are in! It was just the ticket. She was able to hold two water bottles, her phone, and a few other goodies comfortably without the bulkiness of a full backpack. The heavy-duty canvas material helped it stay tough on the rocks, and it still looked fashionable to wear out after.
