Through Harvest Hosts we have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful people....and John, Cathy, and of course Sailor are on that list!
They stayed with us and we were chatting and John mentioned he repurposes old wood for fun. As it turned out we were cleaning out the various workshops on the farm that belonged to my late father. And in one building were some beautiful pieces of barn board as well as some rough cut Hickory. My dad was going to do something with them but unfortunately never did. So we loaded up John's truck with all kinds of lumber.
We felt great about it going to someone who would use it and appreciate it for what it was. Well....the heartwarming feeling was returned....
Yesterday a box arrived. And inside was the kindest note from John and Cathy (and of course Sailor....who is their dog by the way). And inside....three of the most amazing pieces of art....all made from my dad's wood...by John.
These will be cherished.....and there is not enough thanks that can be given.
John, Cathy, and Sailor....I hope our paths cross again. In today's world of negativity and bad times....there are still amazing people. Thank you so much!
