What a great honor to have the mom mug we created featured in ’s daily routine video. She’s an amazing mom of 10 who documents her daily life with her family and it’s pretty fascinating. It’s so great that something inspired by something I heard my mom say 1,000 times resonated with her. This woman is inspiring and hilarious and BRILLIANT!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms 🙌🏾

The mug is available in our shop.

Check out our Nina Simone t-shirt worn by Dr. Melissa M. Valle on the podcast with her husband “In This Together”. She is a tenured professor at Rutgers University with a focus on Global Racial Justice and Sociology. I’ve followed Marc for many years and always respected his work in media as a journalist and his activism for Black liberation. Also love him on . It was cool to see when this order came through and to learn about his wife and what she does as a scholar and academic. Also..me being married and having a toddler later in life makes it worth me tuning in.

Got to meet one of my favorite poets while vending for a pop up market curated by . She was signing her new children’s book inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. She signed my book to my son Gibran who’s also named after a poet and my newborn daughter Serena. I mentioned to her that I own one of the first books that she published through her publishing company, first book of poetry The Seventh Octave.

It’s always great when I run into people who have a connection to James Baldwin and his history. Our customer Leah who bought one of our Baldwin tees from during First Saturdays, currently teaches English at Dewitt Clinton High School where Baldwin graduated. Some really brilliant minds also attended the Bronx school including visionary photographer Richard Avedon who actually ran the school’s literary magazine together. My personal favorite music artist and poet Gil Scott-Heron attended years later. A short list I compiled here includes Ralph Lauren, Stan Lee and The Kid Mero in more recent times 🙌🏾
