In the year 2021 a young woman by the name of Siffan Hassan of the Netherlands was competing in the Olympics. While she was running in the 1500 meter race, one of the runners tripped in front of her causing a domino effect. What could have devastated her entire Olympic competition, ultimately pushed her to win a gold medal that very same day in the 5000 meter race. It's not about how you start.. it's how you finish! Many believers start out their faith walk with excitement, humility and overall gratitude for everything that the Lord has delivered them from. But sometimes life gets in the way and knocks us down. It's in those moments that we have a choice to make. We can either get up and finish the race strong (knowing their will be many more setbacks) or choose to stay down on the ground casting blame for the rest of our life on the things that broke us. I encourage you today, GET UP. Keep the faith and finish strong!! 💪 🏃‍♀️

Hebrews 12:1-2: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."

2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

"Whoever sacrifices to any God, other than the Lord alone shall be devoted to destruction."
Exodus 22:20

This morning as I was reading this scripture, my mind was awakened to the fact that sacrifice doesn't have to be an animal or something put on an altar. It could be sacrificing the things of God for devotion to the "thing" you are chasing. Something that is given priority over the one true God. What are the little "gods" in your life that you have been sacrificing for, that were never meant to take precedence over the one true God?

Lord help us to keep our priorities in line with your word ❤️

The other day, I was standing outside playing with my son when I had this urge to look through my kitchen window. I felt the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit asking to "look at this little home that you are so blessed with". Yes, there may have been dishes in the sink and food on the counter but in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude. How often do we stop and take time to thank God for the little things in life like the dirty kitchen or the messy living room that you have made memories in? Your normal everyday may seem chaotic and you may forget to take time to be thankful for what you have but just know that there is always someone on the outside looking in, wishing they had what you have! Lord help us to walk in graitude in evey moment of every day!

One day my son was laying on the ottoman in front of me while I was sitting on the couch. As he laid back towards the couch, my legs were propped up and were the only thing supporting him and preventing him from falling to the ground. He began to get comfortable and even went as far as putting a pillow behind him while my knees began to give out. It was in that moment that the Holy Spirit began to speak. How often do we rely on things of this world to hold us up and support us - knowing this is temporal and at any moment could be ripped out from under us leaving us shocked and devastated. When we build our lives on false support and build our hope on that, we have nothing let to fall back on when our legs are swept out from under us. We must build our foundation on the rock of ages. Jesus the cornerstone. The rock on which our feet will not fail. The only hope we have to rely on like an anchor in the storm. Build your foundation on Him and when life takes you by surprise He will be right there holding you up when you feel that you can no longer stand!

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
