Heads up about Intuit QuickBooks
At the end of March 2025, I discovered that my QuickBooks account had been compromised. In just three days, approximately $29,000 was moved in and out of the account without my authorization. I immediately contacted QuickBooks support to report the breach and request that my account be frozen. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke with was unable to understand the urgency or nature of the issue and incorrectly insisted that I had made the transactions myself. I was transferred multiple times, but no meaningful action was taken.
Since then, I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with QuickBooks support, and the fraudulent activity has continued. I have since closed my linked GreenDot account, but my original balance of $14,000 has now dwindled to $12,800, and I have not been able to recover the missing funds. To make matters worse, QuickBooks continues to charge me for services I did not authorize, including a subscription fee that has now reached $89 per month.
I have not closed the QuickBooks account entirely because I need access to monitor the situation and understand why my funds are being withheld.
