A moment for some past restoration projects while I work on finishing up two new ones 🤎

If you knew me back in the Laurel days, I swore I would never do restorations. Then one day, I said yes. I learned. And I’m still learning (we never know everything)…

The biggest lesson I learned about the process — each piece will strip differently and that’s hard to plan for ahead of time.

I’ve had projects where the old paint lifted and crackled & in one pass, I was ready for the next step.

I’ve also had projects where the old finish is so stubborn, or there are layers of old paint… and that’s when I’m like WHY DO I DO THIS😂😂😂

But it’s a lesson in perseverance, patience and a reminder that we are capable of more than we think🫶🏼

Dad’s been building birdhouses again🪺🪶🏡

Did you know this entire business started because my dad retired from his career and started salvaging lumber and found parts… to build elaborate birdhouses?!?!

That grew and grew and grew, and shifted, and this and that… and here we are some 20 years later😂

I’ve never found such a detailed needlepoint masterpiece in my entire life 🦚

Dad and I took a little local field trip this morning to check out a potential salvage project☀️

A beautiful old house build in 1906 and pretty much left untouched. Gorgeous windows, doors, walls, floors — and we all know the good stuff that hides behind all that.

Waiting on a timeline and hoping to bring some fresh salvage your way soon 😉

I have a vision for these… 👀

Solid wood end tables; a pair… which can be hard to come by! Some may look and say, oh but the style is so dated. Dark wood, blah blah blah.

BUT that is why I do what I do… these have so much potential.

🔅The borders along the top can be removed so that it’s just a flat wood top.
🪄Paint would be beautiful on these… they can also be stripped and lightened.
🔅The brass k***s are nice but there’s a world of hardware out there… maybe some vintage glass k***s… or seashell k***s… anything!

I’m always here to chat about pieces, dream up different visions and then bring them to life for you!💭

We filled a U-Haul box trunk today with a wide variety of items🤗

My favorite might just be this table - because of its New York history. Check out that label on the underside… July 1960.
Made in Brooklyn.🤎

It has a beautiful shape - it is not a perfect rectangle. See the photos. Beautiful legs with brass caps around the feet that would polish up nicely.

I WOULD LOVE TO RESTORE THIS FOR SOMEONE!!🙋🏻‍♀️

Also available as is; some scuffs and scratches to the finish, and not the best job with the top coat.

The change can be simple and yet drastic😍

The entire “feel” of these dressers went from meh to ‘yeah, I want that’…

This client had us refinish quite a few pieces for their new home. These two dressers started in a faux wood paint job with old handles.

We refinished them in Gibraltar Cliffs Benjamin Moore and updated the drawer pulls to antique style brass k***s😍

Timeless. Solid wood furniture. With a look our clients can appreciate, grow with and design around.
