Believe it or not, both of these very-different-looking pieces of equipment do the same thing! These are our bobbins, which hold spun fiber (either singles or plied yarn) until they are ready to be wound into skeins. One of them is from our new spinner, and one is from our old spinner - can you guess which is which? 😉

'Just another week in the mill' usually involves something breaking, refusing to spin, or not working for an inexplicable reason. This week, we have a broken arm on our spinner. The spinner's arms normally hold themselves up so that we can thread the roving through, but apparently this one decided it was time for a little summer vacation. Luckily, it's not our first time doing this repair, so we know exactly how to fix it!
