Spin some Sonny Rollins today. The last living legend photographed in “A Great Day in Harlem” on 8/12/58 passed on yesterday at 95.

One of the greatest jazz saxophone improvisers, he had a career spanning 7 decades and recorded over 60 albums as the leader.

RIP, Sonny.

This sweet couple from Tokyo, Japan stopped by the shop earlier today. The gent was into early jazz and Western swing. They went to Bob Wills Day and had made plans to visit unbeknownst to us! I absolutely love when 78 collectors come through. He kept commenting on how happy this made him. They left with a healthy stack of 78s & some freebies.

Always available to open after regular business hours for anyone passing through or wanting to visit the record shop. #78
