A Heartfelt Apology & Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due
Here at Rise Up Designs, we believe in creativity, community, and most importantly, supporting and uplifting fellow artists and creators.
I want to take a moment to publicly apologize to Cole Crochets Art, the original designer of the beautiful crochet flower hat that we recently recreated and shared.
Her design came across my Facebook feed, and at the time, I didn't realize that it was her original creation. I absolutely fell in love with the design and was inspired to recreate it, adding a few of my own personal touches and color variations.
Unfortunately, when I shared my version, I failed to recognize and tag the original designer, and for that, I sincerely apologize.
At Rise Up Designs, we have always believed that when we follow another creator's pattern or recreate something inspired by their work, the original artist deserves recognition and credit. That's something I take pride in, and in this situation, I fell short of the very standard I believe in.
I want to make it clear that I never intended to take credit for someone else's creativity or hard work. However, regardless of my intentions, I understand that credit should have been given from the beginning.
Cole Crochets Art, thank you for sharing your beautiful creativity with the world. Your original design inspired me, and I truly appreciate the talent, time, and love that went into creating it.
I also want to thank the crochet community for continuing to remind us how important it is to support, encourage, and acknowledge one another.
There is room for all of us to create, grow, and succeed, but we should never forget to honor those who inspire us along the way.
Moving forward, I will continue to make it a priority to research the origins of designs that inspire me and ensure proper recognition is given.
