It features eight large oval conchos and a matching buckle, each centered by a green turquoise cabochon.

At 740 grams, it is an exceptionally substantial example of Charlie’s work.

A squash blossom look with its own personality.

This sterling silver necklace uses the classic squash blossom layout, with six blossom forms leading down to a large naja.

It measures about 23 inches long and weighs just over 116 grams, so it has plenty of presence without being oversized.

This is a whole lot of silver.

This vintage concho belt features seven large oval conchos, each hand-stamped with scalloped edges and set with turquoise.

The cross-shaped sandcast buckle may be the best part, with four turquoise stones and plenty of character of its own. Altogether, the belt weighs nearly two pounds and measures about 45 inches long.

It is unmarked, but the style and construction are consistent with Navajo work from the period.

Lot 120 sells August 12.

Today is Jim Olson's birthday! Help us wish the Colonel a mighty fine day.

He has spent a lifetime preserving the Western lifestyle, building businesses, taking care of his family, and teaching the rest of us a thing or two along the way.

We know he'll be working today, as he always is, but hopefully it's surrounded by family, good wishes and love.

He hid a little humor in this scene.

Dave Powell’s Taking Out the White Man’s Medicine shows a Plains warrior practicing from horseback, bow drawn toward a scarecrow already full of arrows.

Powell is known for carefully researched Western scenes, but this 2013 original has a little humor worked into the story. He has also served as a historical consultant for productions including Silverado, Lonesome Dove and The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams.

Lot 108 sells August 12.
