Apocalypse Fest 2025, the 13th anniversary of the bands album Infamous! To celebrate the Mohegan Arena commissioned me to make a gift befitting of the occasion! So two months ago I got working on my largest project to date: 9 custom denim vests for the band and some of the crew. I had a blast designing the vests around the design of the album cover and incorporating details specific to each of the members personal aesthetics! I hand beaded the mirror pieces on to each vest and really made each one slightly unique. I even spent time custom painting the boxes for them to be delivered in, to really make each piece have its own moment to shine!

Being able to have my work be apart of this festival for the third year running has been such an honor and this project especially was a very full circle moment. Thank you to all who made this possible, especially who brought me on for this amazing project!

Part two, A year of Creation and Learning.

This year brought my work some insane opportunities and some great clients! Ive been pushed farther than I ever expected to be in terms of time limits and learning new skills to better execute the vision in my head. Iโ€™m so grateful to all those who trusted me with their clothing this year and I look forward to seeing what next year brings me and my studio.

Part one, A year of Creation and Learning.

From high school hallways to arena stages Iโ€™m so glad to be able to aid in making people feel like themselves. I know first hand the power of wearing clothes you truly love and being able to wear unique art. For something we all choose as a daily chore, itโ€™s easy to forget about the opportunity to express ourselves in our clothing. Each piece I got to create this year brought its own challenges for me to overcome and learn from and Iโ€™m so grateful for all of it. Mostly the first half of the year with a few miscellaneous end items, a few random other items I made will not be pictured due to not having enough photos of them.

Last but never least, the glowing skeleton himself. This one I really pushed to give myself a growth and push myself into spots I hadnโ€™t really done before with a client. Robby had asked for โ€œanother one like the green oneโ€ and from his feedback I didnโ€™t think that was actually the best option for a summer tour, so I asked if heโ€™d allow me to make something from scratch. So without a single fitting (something that isnโ€™t common with an undertaking like this) I patterned a suit jacket from his measurements, learned from some flaws from the previous suit and made a fully custom jacket and pants. I was terrified not having a fitting as itโ€™s incredibly difficult to place things and make sure it fits without being able to place it on the body, but thankfully it fit fairly well.

The most notable difference between this suit and the last one is the large mesh panels that allowed for better airflow while performing. This was important to me to add after watching him perform in the last one and hearing how hot it got, comfort can make a huge difference in how clothing is worn and how a musician performs.

Iโ€™m always incredibly thankful that Robby and the other guys come to me with inspo and let me run wild. Iโ€™m happy to have been able to brush off my patterning skills and incredibly proud of the outcome.

Sometimes the materials inform the design. Which is very much the case with this jacket. Anthony had sent me a white suit jacket right before they left for their headline tour and I had some lace on had from previous projects. Between the left over lace and hardware from previous projects (as the quick turn around didnโ€™t allow for material searches) I managed this piece in about a week and a half. The one new skill I did learn in this short time frame was airbrushing, something Iโ€™d wanted to try forever but hadnโ€™t delved into yet. Anthony and I were both concerned about a white jacket on tour with a โ€œmakeup bandโ€ as makeup stains will get on everything especially in the small spaces of tour. Airbrushing a distressed aged feeling onto the jacket ended up being the perfect fix for this and gives such depth on stage. I feel like the regal vibe of this jacket suits Anthony quite well despite being quite different from what his usual look is.

Anthony hadnโ€™t originally asked me for anything but after seeing the work Iโ€™d done for the other three messaged me and asked if I could manage one more. I somehow did manage it and it allowed me to complete another goal of mine, outfitting an entire band. Thank you Mack for being the middle man in our delivery.

Sometimes itโ€™s ok not having a fully formed plan for a piece, just take what you have on hand and see what you can do.

This jacket ended up being my personal favorite from this collection! Starting on this jacket I was honestly really nervous about it, unlike many previous clients of mine Cory had a very clear idea of his aesthetic before we started working together and I was worried that I wouldnโ€™t be able to meet his expectations. Thankfully that wasnโ€™t the case, as you can see from the demons this jacket helped him release on stage.

Weโ€™d started with the basic vibes of cyber goth and of course, Edward Scissorhands. Now Cory is very active on stage and when designing for him durability and breathability tend to be the top priorities, which tend to be at odds with each other commonly. This and his request to take out the lining meant I started with a few hours of completely unseen work that Iโ€™m quite proud of. I wanted to focus on being able to remove things as needed, such as the pleats and hood so he could adapt his look as he chose (and give us the ability to upgrade in the future). Hardware was a must based on Coryโ€™s previous looks and the inspo so I set about making each strap individually to make sure it fit exactly as needed. Also for fun, thereโ€™s a little photo on the addition I added at the NYC show after a somewhat unexpected damage, sometimes designing for active musicians comes with its challenges! But thatโ€™s why I always offer to repair on the go!

I think I hit the mark with this one really well. It took a surprising amount of time to work out each of the many details for it, but I donโ€™t think it wouldโ€™ve been half as good without every single one. And thank you Cory for letting me design for you and truly wearing it and bringing it to life ๐Ÿ–ค

Iโ€™m starting these posts with the one that didnโ€™t get seen as much. The other jackets got a lot of notice from how flashy they were but with Triston I kept it a little more simplistic.

When designing for a drummer thereโ€™s a need to keep things stream lined so they can effectively play. Triston hadnโ€™t given me much in terms of requests and we hadnโ€™t worked together much so I decided to stay simple and breezy. Keeping in line with his previous stage looks of bleached cut off shirts I created an elevated version of that.

Iโ€™d thrifted a polo shirt made from an athletic material and created the mesh panels on the side out of an athletic power mesh. For my classic flare, I added rivets along the sides of the mesh and a full triangle of rivets across the shoulders (reminiscent of the bassistโ€™s jacket to keep cohesive) and studded the collar.

Sometimes simple is the most effective start
