Laura's Blanket Repair

Laura's Blanket Repair Laura's Blanket Repair is your PROFESSIONAL and AFFORDABLE Horse Blanket Washing, Repairing, Custom AGAIN, ALL blankets WILL be washed!

My goal is to provide you with a fixed blanket that is not only functional but also durable! There is nothing more frustrating to find that a tear has been hidden rather than repaired, and reveals itself again only after a few wears. Horses are rough on their blankets, so I will do what I can to keep it waterproofed, weatherproofed, and to prevent the same tear from reappearing. I will do the work

to mend, secure and reinforce, and you can sleep soundly on the coldest and dampest of nights knowing the blankets are doing their job. All blankets will be accounted for and inventoried so you are sure that your requested repairs are completed and returned back to YOU. All blankets WILL be washed and deodorized before any repairs can take place. Washed in cold water and hung to dry to prevent shrinking, however it is impossible to prevent it 100% and I will not be held responsible. All patches will be matched as close as possible, but may not be identical. CASH, CHECK, PayPal

This has always been the policy, and it is clearly posted at the drop-off location.

All items must be:

- Bagged
- Labeled with your name
- Include contact information
- Include any specifics (ex: waterproofing / do not repair)

Supplies (bags, paper, tape, pens, Sharpies) are provided on-site, right next to the sign.

Despite this, we have already received multiple drop-offs/items within the past 2 weeks with no name, no bag, and no labeling.

From here on out:
If your information is not physically with your blankets, they will not be processed.

Texts, phone calls, messages, and emails do not count!

No exceptions.

🌟🐴2026 Blanket Washing Season Update🐴🌟

As we head into blanket season, we wanted to share a quick update on scheduling for this year.

After more than 12 years of washing blankets, our little operation has grown quite a bit. Between the expanding parts of our business and being fortunate enough to work with some amazing nation wide retailers, to some exciting upcoming projects, and still making sure we still carve out time for family, this summer is shaping up to be a busy one. Because of that, we’ll be making a few small adjustments to our schedule so we can continue serving our community and providing the reliable service you've come to know and trust, while keeping things running smoothly.

Things will work little different this year! Our blanket drop-off window will run from April through July 4th. During that time, we will be collecting blankets and working through them throughout the summer so they can be returned in a timely manner. Turn around times will vary, but expect back by September.

To keep things efficient this year, we will be doing one scheduled pickup and one return per local barn/location, rather than multiple trips back and forth. Please help us by making sure others at your barn are aware so blankets can be gathered together.

Blankets received earlier in the season will get priority, we may accept blankets later in the summer/fall IF time allows. Some regular clients do have their own routines with us, those will not change.

With blankets starting to come off horses within the next few weeks, now is a great time to start planning to bag them up and get them cleaned and ready for storage so they’re fresh and ready to go for next fall. Enjoy the summer getting to cross that task off your "To Do List" early, without it weighing on your shoulders.

A few additional notes:
• We will not be accepting blankets March 16–26 while we are away.
• Blanket drop-offs will resume after we return on the 26th/27th. (Drop off on front porch as usual)
• PayPal payments now include processing fees. Venmo, check, and cash do not have added fees. Your invoice will show both totals so you can choose your preferred payment method. (This system began last fall, so some of you may already be familiar with it.)
• We appreciate everyone who has already dropped blankets off or sent messages about getting your blankets dropped off early, thank you!

Once the weather stabilizes and we return to the warmer temperatures we had earlier this week 🌞, washing will begin again. Blankets are completed in the order they are received. As always all blankets that come in together, go back together.

We will also be returning fly sheets that were stored over the winter in the coming days, so please keep an eye out for text messages/invoices.

Thank you all for helping us keep the season organized and running smoothly! We will try to remind you more throughout this Spring!

❄️ Winter Service Update ❄️
Hi friends! As many of you know, we stopped accepting blankets back in October.

Please note, any blankets coming in at this time are at the mercy of weather cooperation and my limited available time. We do understand that during breaks of the mid-winter inclement weather, many want their blankets cleaned, repaired and pepped up for the next round. BUT PLEASE CONSIDER THIS FIRST! 👇

💙 Right now, with freezing temperatures, we are not opening or running the wash machines. Doing so risks damage to pipes and equipment, and we simply cannot take that chance. We have done so in past years, and every single year we have sustained damage from doing so...not this year.

This time of year we also have very limited hours available as we balance other areas of our business and responsibilities. Please, please understand...limited time is an understatement.

Because of that:
❄️ We are not taking in blankets that need quick turnaround.
❄️ Washing is on hold until temperatures are safe.
❄️ We are continuing repairs on items already here...with the time we have available.

If you have already dropped off, we have you covered. Your items are in line and being worked on as time allows within our winter schedule.

If your blankets are not urgent and you TRULY don’t need them back anytime soon, sure you may still drop them at a location, but please understand:

✔️ There is NO rush timeline..and no estimated turn around time.
✔️ Make sure your name & contact info are clearly attached, with any special requests : waterproofing or do NOT repair. Otherwise all items coming in are washed and repaired as necessary.

💯 Fly sheets that have been dropped off will be done between winter blanket loads. They are being stored properly and will absolutely be back to you before spring when they’re needed.

🚫 🚫 About Rush Requests🚫🚫
For the past 12 years, we have operated as a no-rush service. Our workflow is scheduled very carefully not only due to our extremely full schedule but to also ensure:

• Quality, thorough cleaning and repairs
• Proper drying time *we do not send blankets home damp or unfinished.
• Accurate tracking and accounting of every item coming in and going out.
• Orders staying together, we do not split orders to rush single pieces ahead.

Dropping items off saying "no rush" and later requesting a 24–48 hour turnaround does not change scheduling.

If an emergency accommodation is even possible, a rush fee will apply, but please do not assume expedited service without prior discussion.

Our system is designed to protect your blankets, ensure repairs are done correctly, and keep everything accounted for, not to move items through quickly at the expense of quality.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Protecting your gear and the equipment that cleans it ensures we’re ready to wash & roll when the season ramps back up 💙

Hey everyone! I just want to take a moment to kindly remind everyone about our blanket turnaround times.

If you dropped off your horse blankets in September, your order is scheduled to be completed during October, as we’ve posted over the past few weeks (late late sept/oct drop offs will be ready later). Between Labor Day weekend and the end of September, we had dozens of customers drop off blankets… which adds up to hundreds of blankets currently in rotation, requiring us to stop accepting blankets.

It’s just me right now, and Im literally going around the clock. Most days, I’m working until midnight or later, and I’m right back at it in the morning. I promise, your blankets are coming! Every single one will be completed and returned as soon as humanly possible.

👉 As soon as your blankets are ready, I’ll reach out right away for pickup. (And as a reminder, I am putting boarders from barns together, even if you all dropped off at different times...so i can drop off all together). Invoices are ready when your blankets are. Check/cash/venmo is accepted, paypal does include fees which will be calculated in your message.

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding. I know everyone’s excited to get their blankets back (and I want them out of here just as badly, trust me! 😂). I truly appreciate everyone’s support, kindness, and patience while I work through this mountain of laundry.

💙 Thank you again — your blankets are in good hands and will be back with you soon!

🚫 Reminder: Blanket Drop-Offs Are Closed 🚫

As of September 30th, our blanket season has ended. I am not accepting any more blankets unless we have communicated directly.

👉 If you are planning to drop something off, you must confirm with me first.
👉 Any late drop-offs will not be completed until mid-to-late December at the earliest.
👉October will be spent working on the ones we have and getting them back. Drop offs of individuals from the same boarding barns will be combined for 1 convenient drop off.
👉November: WE ARE COMPLETELY CLOSED.

Please understand, my schedule is already full with the hundreds of blankets that were dropped off in September, along with my other business commitments and homeschooling. If you did not get them in during the many months available, I cannot guarantee quick turnaround now.

AGAIN, please do not drop off unless communicating directly with me, as I need your understanding that your blankets will not be back until December at the earliest.

Thank you for respecting these boundaries and for helping me stay on track for those who met the deadline.
(And please remember....this past winter resulted in absolutely gnarly, torn, destroyed blankets....these take a while to repair and may get delayed to keep our system rolling. If you have blankets in such conditions, expect delays)

Thank you again, and I appreciate you all,

-LBR

⚠️Important Blanket Drop-Off Update⚠️

The last official day for open drop-offs will be TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 30th.
All blankets we are currently working on or received by that date will be worked on and returned throughout October.

🌟We will be closed for the entire month of November.🌟
Any blankets dropped off after September 30th will not be started until after Thanksgiving, rolling into December.

**Keep that in mind if we still have blankets that you have not picked up yet from early summer. Many stated they were on vacation, busy or unable to pick up. Make sure if you want your blankets back prior to December that they are picked up prior to Oct 31st**

Please understand, this timing is necessary—we keep our spring & summer available for drop-offs any day/time, but with homeschooling in full swing, two businesses to run, our Amazing Mrs Meggie back at work, shorter daylight hours, yuckier weather, and way over 100 blankets dropped since Labor Day alone. We simply cannot accept more blankets and ensure completion before our schedule becomes packed throughout November and the holiday season.

Thank you so much for your understanding, and for planning ahead to make sure your blankets are ready when you need them!

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE 🚨

As of 8PM tonight (9/2), we will NOT be accepting blankets until 9/9.

🍂We are entering the fall rush, here's your seasonal reminder of the ground rules:

📢 Name & Contact Info = REQUIRED

Blankets dropped off with no info or only your horse’s name are not a priority.

Your name and phone/email must be attached.

If you skip this step, your blankets will sit until you reach out to identify them.

📢 Pre-Messages Don’t Count

“I’ll drop off tomorrow/next week/etc.” means nothing until the blankets are actually here.

We don’t track attendance — we track what’s in the shop. (Just because you say you're dropping off does not mean we are putting a name/number to anonymous bags dropped off).

📢 Instructions Must Come WITH Your Blankets

Requests like “wash only/no repairs” or “waterproof” must be written and attached. (Reminder: we do not accept "do not wash/repair only" blankets)

We are not scrolling back through dozens of texts or messages for your requests.

📢 Turnaround Time

Drop-offs after 9/9 = early to mid-October returns.

Why? Because school is back in session. I homeschool, and The Marvelous (understatement) Ms Meggie is a teacher. Fall hours are tighter — but blankets could’ve come in anytime this spring or summer when the time and weather were on our side.

If blankets sat dirty in a heap until now, that was your window. Dropping them in September does not make your need an emergency on our end.

**If you’re planning to clip your horse, ship a horse, or need show coolers ready within just a few days — do not drop blankets off. Blankets are often not washed the same day they’re received, and we do not offer rush service.**

📢 Repairs

We’ve seen record-breaking shredded blankets this year. Each taking 2–4+ hours.

Repairs of this scope will now be billed at $25/hr for time + materials. (Trust me, I'm not taking my time repairing). All blankets are done in the order they are received, except destroyed blankets..then they are done when we have the time.

One "destroyed" (another understatement) blanket can hold up literally +15 blankets needing the $5-$20 repairs.

📢 Pickup & Payment

Payment is required at or before pickup. As of Sept 1st- PayPal payments will now have a 3.49%+.49c added to the total to cover fees. Cash and Check are always accepted at pickup.

Blankets are not “hostage” — they are finished and waiting.

What we will not do is release or drop off unpaid orders. And that goes for full barns too, all parties must be paid. No payment, no pickup/drop off. Period. *mean texts/messages dont help your cause*

📢 Returns Go Back Together

Blankets from the same drop-off return together.

When possible, we also group by barn for convenience, if we find multiple people from the same barn have dropped off at different times (if we know).

---

🌟 Bottom line: PLEASE Take responsibility for your items.
Label your blankets, bring them in on time and pay at pickup. Nasty texts, messages or emails about turnaround times or “hostage blankets” won’t change the reality: you had months to plan, and now we’re in the busiest, most rushed season.

See you on 9/9!

As always, thanks so much for your support and understanding,

-LBR 🫶

🚨 Blanket Drop-Off Reminder 🚨

Just a quick reminder!
We do not offer "repair only" or "do not wash" services.
All blankets brought in will be washed before any repairs or waterproofing are done—no exceptions.

✅ Please make sure your items are bagged, and are labeled with your name and contact information on at least one of your bags, if not every bag.

📌 Important:
All special requests—such as "no repairs", "wash only" or "please waterproof"—must be included in writing and physically attached or with the blanket at the time of drop-off. We do not reference past texts, Facebook messages, or verbal instructions. And any blankets marked "wash only" will be just that, we will not contact you if we find that repairs are needed.
🌟If it’s not with the blanket, it will not be done.🌟

🧺 If you dropped off a blanket yesterday with no contact information, please reach out to me ASAP so I can notify you when it’s ready for pickup.

Thanks for helping us keep everything running smoothly this season! 💙

⚠️We're seeing a trend we need to address! ⚠️

Let's be clear: those stable blankets, coolers, and therapeutic sheets are designed for a life of gentle leisure, and should be limited to in the barn/trailer use. Trying to Frankenstein them into turnout gear is like putting lipstick on a pig... a very expensive, easily ripped pig.

No amount of strategic stitching or creative cutting will give them the durability and resilience needed for the rigors of pasture life!

We're repairing a lot of sheets/coolers inappropriately used and now unbelievably shredded, AND receiving more requests to alter these kinds of items for outdoor wear.

This isn't a crafting project; it's a matter of using the right tool for the job. And these are decidedly the wrong tools. Seriously, save yourself the heartache and the potentially injured horse...it's not worth it!

Thanks,

L. xx

* Please include your name and contact information.

* In May we will start working at full capacity, so completion times may be longer right now, especially for repairs.

👋 Hello again! I trust you are doing well.

Please understand that we have a very limited amount of time available. We are only accepting blankets that are dropped off at the animal hospitals or our Willards location.

We are currently extremely busy working with our large retail clients, so the turnaround time for blankets is longer than usual. I am unable to rush any blankets due to a lack of availability.

Please plan accordingly.

Thank you for understanding,
