A Heartfelt Farewell and Final Opportunity to Support Iron Mikayla

Dear Valued Customers,

I am writing to share an important and deeply personal decision: Iron Mikayla will close its doors on December 2, 2024. While this has been an incredible journey, I’ve made the tough choice to give Iron Mikayla the rest it needs. There may always be a chance for revival in the future, but for now, this chapter must come to a close.

Your support has been the backbone of this business over the years, and I will forever be grateful for that. But as many of you know, keeping this going has been harder than I anticipated, and this decision, though difficult, is what feels right at this moment.

Between now and December 1, 2024, I invite you to make the most of this final stretch. Stock up on your favorite items or discover something new, knowing that 10% of all proceeds will be donated to a Women’s veteran non-profit organization. Your purchases will help close out this journey on a high note and contribute to a cause near and dear to my heart.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this community, and I hope Iron Mikayla has brought you as much joy and inspiration as it has me. Let’s make this final month meaningful as we celebrate what we’ve built together.

With gratitude,
Chambala Roach
Founder, Iron Mikayla

As Memorial Day approaches, it is crucial to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning behind this significant day. It's a time when we come together as a nation to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our armed forces.

For me, this day holds profound importance and serves as a reminder of the selflessness and dedication of my fallen Military brothers and sisters.

As we observe this Memorial Day, let us unite in remembrance, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to support those who serve.

May the memories of our fallen heroes forever be etched in our hearts. Together, we can honor their legacy and strive to make a positive difference in the world they fought to protect.

I would never attempt to tell you what it's like being a father while serving in the military, but as a mother I can tell you it's hard to walk away from your little ones when duty calls.

Personally, I've felt guilty because my kids didn't have access to their mother 24/7 like their peers. So, for the month of the military child, I created something I couldn't find as a military mother.

These shirts are for military kids 3 months old and beyond to celebrate being a child with a military mother. This is also one of the few times I plan to incorporate unisex adult shirts.

As always, 10% of the profits will be donated, but this month, it will be to Our Military Kids, a non-profit organization.

I thank you all for your continued support.

Cathay Williams was an African American woman who served in the United States Army during the late 19th century. She is notable for being the first known African American woman to enlist in the army and serve as a Buffalo Soldier.

Williams enlisted in the army under the pseudonym William Cathay in order to conceal her gender. She served for two years in the 38th Infantry Regiment before being discharged due to illness.

Her service as a Buffalo Soldier was a rare accomplishment for a woman and an African American at the time and reflects her bravery and determination.

Despite the challenges she faced, Williams' legacy continues to inspire and serve as a testament to the sacrifices and contributions of African American women in the military.

As we celebrate Women's History Month, we honor Cathay Williams for her courage, service, and pioneering spirit, which blazed a trail for generations of women soldiers who followed in her footsteps.

Nancy Harkness Love was a pioneering aviator who played a critical role in the integration of women into military aviation.

During World War II, she organized and led the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS), which later merged with the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP).

The WAFS was the first organization of women pilots in U.S. history, and it paved the way for the creation of the WASP, which trained and deployed more than 1,000 women pilots to fly military aircraft.

As we celebrate Women's History Month, we honor Nancy Harkness Love for her courage, service, and pioneering spirit, which blazed a trail for generations of women pilots who followed in her footsteps.

Loretta Walsh was the first woman to enlist in the United States Navy. In 1917, during World War I, she joined the Naval Reserve in response to a call from the Navy for women to serve in clerical and administrative roles. Her enlistment marked a significant milestone for women in the military, as it paved the way for the integration of women in the Navy and the other branches of the military. Her legacy continues to inspire generations of women who serve in the military today.
