Does stirchery make you want to smile, like it makes me want to smile? This heart and love unites stitchers from all over the world 🌎

Oh Deer chart by The Scarlet House is very sweet and evocative of winter and deer in the forest, and even of Christmas coming.

This chart is only 6" when finished and is originally stitched on 40 ct Linen. If you are new to cross stitch, you may not know that the higher the number on the linen count, the tinier your stitches will end up being. I promise that you will need a stitchers lighted magnifier to be accurate on 40 ct. Linen. Vintage Country Mocha 14 CT Aida will work beautifully for this piece, but the finished stitchery will turn out larger.

This beautiful design reminds me of old time 1700's woven coverlets, Quaker designs, and of course Americanna, all together in one fairly simple cross stitch piece.

With the original stitched on 32 ct. Linen, it could just as well be stitched on the easier 14 ct Aida cloth, although this would change the look somewhat.

Summer Trips --- fun and magical!

Since I am on a Hawaiian trip,, I thought to feature Jeanette Douglas Designs Trip Series we have available at Prairie Plum Stitchery.. There are six travel designs altogether, each one 4 X 4". Jeanette originally made the series into a six sided travel cube, a great idea!

Stitch cards are the popular brainchild of Lori Holt from Bee in my Bonnet quilting and cross stitch designs. This cute little strawberry design is from Stirch Card Set M. Each stitch card set includes four designs.

Thank you to my daughter Daisy for stitching this piece as an example of stitching on perforated paper, which is a good medium for beginning cross stitchers, and an easy project for experienced cross stitching ethusiasts.

The little pillow is super easy to make, with it's raw edge sewing, using hand dyed wool from Weeks Dye Works.
