This was posted on a formal wear sewing page I follow. Yes. Yes, to all. I actually wear my slippers to work fairly often since my commute is so short and nobody is around to notice! I've never bled on someone's garment but I stab myself at least once a day.

Raise your hand if you…
- found a new glitter “beauty mark” on your face in the morning, before beginning any work
- have found sequins and glitter in areas of your home, car, or other people's homes where you don’t sew
- gone to work in your house slippers (yes, those ones… with cats on them)
- pricked a finger and bled twice this week
- only know what day it is because you have an order due this day or soon
- glared at or swore at a garment
- have named all your sewing machines
- have forgotten to eat for most of a day

I'm very honored to have been given a Citizen's award by the Cowley County Sheriff's Office. A while back Deputy Mann came by asking if I could help him personalize a stuffed bear that could be given to a young child who had been in an accident that was worked by several of the officers. Since then I (sadly) have had the opportunity to help create a few more. It really means a lot to me to be able to help them create such a meaningful, personalized, and lasting gift.

I purchased Prestige Monogram from Don and Mildred in 2007. It is partly because of the strong foundation they built that I have been able to continue as a successful business. Don was also the reason I have an absolute hatred for duct tape. He used it on EVERYTHING! Lol. 😂

Since the crush of prom I have worked on 2 wedding gowns and a bridesmaid dress that have really challenged me. Two were major restyling of the dresses. Early mornings and late nights all were worth it this morning as happy tears (and relief) were shared all around when the bride softly said "I love it." That's why I do what I do-to help people feel great, to feel beautiful, to feel comfortable in what they're wearing. I hope to share some pictures soon. Now, I'm looking forward to getting back to the routine alterations that don't require so much brain power!

Prom 2025 is done! I worked on 23 dresses this year, 2 pair of slacks and also worked in a bridal gown redesign. The sequins and glitter will continue to add a little sparkle to the house for months-I even found sequins in my truck and Mom's apartment (how does that happen??).
