Rétroviseur

Rétroviseur Our story…

Mark was 13 when his father had a major stroke. He used this scholarship, along with earnings from part-time jobs to graduate from Penn State.

Working alongside his mother, he “stepped up” as the oldest son taking over duties on the farm until his father could return. His mother instilled in him that education was the key to moving forward from an area so dependent on a dying steel industry and agriculture. As a senior in high school, Mark was awarded a scholarship based on merit, need, and work ethic by a local service organization. Mar

k and I retired to Clemmons NC, after careers in the agricultural equipment industry and interior design. We returned to our roots and purchased a small farm, RearView Acres on which we grow lavender and blackberries. During the recent pandemic, we started donating blackberries to the Clemmons Food Pantry and Mark found a place to volunteer. Rétroviseur was established in 2023. Our profits provide scholarships at Forsyth Tech using the same criteria by which Mark earned his scholarship: merit, need, and work ethic with education being the key to moving forward in life. We established RearView Acres and Rétroviseur (Rearview mirror in French) with the goal of “paying it forward through the rearview”. We invite you to join us and watch our story evolve…
