We have had an amazing time with our interns this summer. One of the more sparkly projects was a Snow Queen tiara for The Nutcracker.

Designed by Ainsley Vaughn, a contemporary dance major at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the icy colors of Snow Scene were incorporated into this "double tiara" design. The front tiara drapes softly behind the ear and finishes with an echoed smaller tiara in the back.

Can you believe that Ainsley had never made a tiara before her internship at Jenna Sais Quoi!? An incredible idea brought to life at the atelier. We couldn't be more proud of her and her assistant, Medina!

Loved receiving these pictures from our client during Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Jenna met Kristen and Paris at the William G White YMCA, and talked to them while soaking in the hot tub. After learning that Kristen was looking for alterations to accomodate her cerebral palsy, Jenna said "Jenna Sais Quoi can do that!"

All layers of Kristen's wedding dress were shortened so that she could fulfill her lifelong dream of walking down the aisle without tripping over excess fabric. We also switched out the triangular bust insert for a more complementary skin tone mesh.

Thanks to our intern Elizabeth W. for meticulously measuring and trimming this gown by hand.

Congratulations, Paris and Kristen. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness, joy, and fulfillment!

Summertime is in full swing at the atelier, and we couldn't love it, or our interns, more! 🤓✂️With several big projects on the cutting table, we are jumping into machine sewing, hand stitching, patternmaking, and (of course) tutus.

It's going to be a productive summer packed with hands-on experience!

We are hard at work with our interns already.

Of course, we had to start with one of our favorite things: tutu plates 🩰

Our intern Pree was given some guidelines by CEO Jenna Anderson, and designed the plate herself by meticulously cutting out and arranging individual lace pieces. Very well done, Pree! 👏

Can't wait to see the evolution of her design skills this summer!

Always fun to see how fluffy they get before steaming and tacking. Strangely enough, it seems to have been a theme throughout my life to wear them as a hat 🎩

It wouldn’t be Christmas without tutus!

My niece designed her very own “Snow Queen” tutu (that somehow incorporated Wicked colors and mermaid fabric 🤔)

She helped cut out tulle, sample fabrics at the store, and glue sequins to make a very sparkly ensemble.

At 3 1/2, we might have another tutu designer on our hands, folks!

Once in a while, I like to dabble in a ready made pattern to experiment with different sewing techniques and challenge myself to think in new ways.

I’ve had my eye on this Vogue Patterns dress for a while, so I whipped it together after finding the perfect fabric. A few pattern adjustments and it fits me perfectly!

I even made a little half slip with cutout lace to go with it 🤗

I really am such a fan of this fabric; light, airy, and dramatic all at the same time!
