Today a wonderful supporter of the rescue in so many different ways, brought in this brand new, huge bag of yarn for Dianne to use to make kitties for the thrift store. You can’t see it but there is also yarn in the bottom from her own personal stash. She also bought and printed patterns of various types of cat breeds. Stay tuned for what is to come and will be for sale in the store and in our Facebook auctions in the near future. FYI… our Father’s Day, Graduation, Summer Fun auction is Friday, June 5-Friday, June 12

🐾 FCAT THRIFT SHOP UPDATE 🐾
🚨 CLOSED TODAY (SATURDAY) 🚨
Due to an emergency rescue situation, the FCAT Thrift Shop will not be open today.
We were contacted about a group of cats that were abandoned in a trailer after their owner passed away. Many of the cats are sick and in urgent need of care. Our team is dedicating today to helping these cats and assessing their medical needs.

Tuesday, Charlene brought in a cat tree for our kitties and shared that her sister Rhonda had sent it for them. Thank you so much, Rhonda, for thinking of our rescue cats! ❤️
The kitties wasted no time checking it out and were climbing, exploring, and making themselves right at home. It’s always so heartwarming to see them enjoy something new and have a cozy place to play and relax.
We are so grateful for the kindness and support from our community that helps make life better for these cats every single day. 🐾

#2 Emergency kitten update 💔

Little Sally had a low temperature when she arrived at our vet this morning. She did have x-rays done, and thankfully there do not appear to be any broken bones or gas buildup at this time.

She is now on pain medication and antibiotics to help keep her comfortable and prevent infection in her injured foot and leg. For now, she is keeping the leg, but that could still change depending on how things progress over the next few days.

One of the amazing front desk ladies at Countryside Veterinary Clinic has offered to foster Sally for us while she recovers. We are so incredibly grateful to Countryside for getting her in immediately and to Kai for stepping up to foster this sweet little girl.

Please keep Sally in your thoughts as she fights to heal. 💕

#1 update
Today a tiny kitten, only about 6 weeks old, was brought to us with a severely swollen leg and foot after becoming tangled in wire or netting for an unknown amount of time. Her little foot and leg are dangling and she does not appear to have any feeling in it.

We rushed her immediately to Countryside Veterinary Service where she is currently being assessed by Dr. Tammy.

We do not yet know the extent of the damage or what her future holds, but we knew she needed help right away. Please keep this sweet baby in your thoughts today as we wait for answers.

Cases like this are heartbreaking and emotionally exhausting, but this is why rescue matters. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand behind us so we can say “yes” when animals are suffering and need urgent care.
