The Ocracoke Preservation Society has the quilt on display in the museum! You can buy raffle tickets at the museum on the island.

I finished up three quilts for various organizations on Ocracoke this week. One will be auctioned for the Ocrafolk Festival, and one for the Firefighters fundraiser. The large quilt will have raffle tickets on sale all year at the museum. The quilters of Ocracoke do an outstanding job of loving their community.

I have been doing a lot of traveling, but I’m still quilting and expect to be busy in the next few weeks. These two awesome Tula Pink projects were a bright spot this week. If you have Christmas gifts, please remember that the deadline for guaranteed by December 1 is October 15.

I had the honor of quilting another “first” quilt this week. I love my job! It allows me to stitch Christmas year-round. This lovely quilt from Susan was quilted with Xmas Doodles in Glide White on a bamboo batting. I attached a binding that I made from her extra fabric for easy hand-stitching to finish.

Eleven years ago today, I named my business “Island Time Quilting” to reflect both the love of my precious Ocracoke Island, but also my philosophy of pure joy and untracked time spent whenever I am immersed in quilting projects. I knew that if I longarm quilted for clients, they would get extra “Island Time” for their own personal projects. Thank you so much for your support all these years, and for sharing the Island Time approach to quilting.

We are on summer vacation, but I look forward to seeing what you make this summer when I return in August.
