The absolute best find this year is this quilt!
Someone else had picked it up, and I found myself chatting with God about how special it would be if I could have it. You see, we were gifted one for our wedding—an old Mennonite one from the 1930’s, my roots—and it has gotten very tattered. And while it is still wonderful, it is getting too tattered to snuggle up in. Alas, I have been dreaming about finding a quilt that speaks to me—and reminds me of my childhood, my heritage—and I saw this quilt. The lady put it back and the vendor’s helper picked it up and claimed it. Lo and behold, to make a long story very short and sweet, it was shared with me. God gifted it to me! I couldn’t help but cry my little heart out. Here is sits on my couch, a quick grab to curl up in—my favorite colors: white and green, old and full of God’s goodness. He is in the details in our lives. He sees and He loves. He puts the tattered pieces together and makes things whole.
Oh, how much He loves.
