Congratulations to the Arnolds!

McKenna could not have been more stunning in her embellished fit and flare gown. She was the picture of grace and elegance and every detail of her big day looked like pure perfection. I especially love her brightly colored flowers and the way she accessorized her wedding day look with a breathtaking pearl studded veil to match her necklace and shoes.

To get her gorgeous gown ready for the big day, we began by carefully shortening the beaded straps and tailoring the bodice. The intricate 3-D lace and beadwork was carefully removed so the gown could be taken in at the sides and at the small of the back, then meticulously reattached for a seamless look. The delicate skirt layers were hemmed with special care taken to ensure perfect placement of the floral appliqués along the edge. The alterations were finished with an eight-point American bustle to effortlessly take the gown from ceremony to reception.

Cheers to the Arnolds! I hope these first few months of marriage have been joy-filled and wonderful, and that the best is yet to come.

Every bride that comes into my studio is special. With most, we start out as strangers and part ways as friends. But every now and then I get to work with a bride who I have known through many seasons of life, watching with joy as their story unfolds into this beautiful new chapter.

Long before Kendall was a bride, she was a little girl a few doors down playing alongside my own. I got to watch her grow up, helped her get ready for prom, and cheered her on as she became a doctor. Helping the little girl I once knew step into the role of “Bride” is a full-circle moment and a privilege I do not take lightly.

The feeling in the fitting room was warm and familiar as we got started working on Kendall’s gown. It did not take much to get it ready for the big day: we shortened the straps, reinforced the support in the bodice, and hemmed all layers of the voluminous skirt. The alterations were finished with a seven-point French bustle which looked positively lovely as she danced the night away with her groom.

Congratulations to the Heyers! May every day together be more joy-filled than the last.

A beautiful love story deserves an equally breathtaking celebration. Charlene’s wedding day was the very definition of elegance, brought to life through curated details and timeless touches.

Woven seamlessly into her bridal look were classic pearls, echoing a beautiful legacy. Ancient traditions tell us that pearls symbolize wisdom, purity, and a harmonious life ahead. For Charlene, they were the perfect final touch, elegantly adorning her veil with a soft, iridescent glow.

But before all the beautiful details and final touches could come together, we had to make sure Charlene’s avant-garde Justin Alexander gown was every bit as perfect as her plans for the big day. We first began by shortening the straps and adding darts to the small of the back for a contoured fit. The sides of the skirt were taken in and the volume was reduced slightly for a more understated look. The skirt layers were hemmed and a 12 point French bustle elegantly tucked the dramatic train away for a night of dancing and celebrating.

Congratulations to Charlene and Keiyalon on their first anniversary! May your love deepen and grow with each passing year.

One of the privileges of my job is getting to work with my brides throughout the wedding planning process. We get to talk about the details, the venue, what their day will look like and all the special moments in between. I share in their excitement even after their dress has left my shop and eagerly wait to see how it all came together when they share their wedding photos with me.

I can’t help but smile looking through the photos from Annie’s wedding day. With the sun glimmering on the water behind, Annie and Carson were the picture of wedded bliss at their coastal Georgia wedding.

Annie’s understated Morilee gown highlighted her natural beauty and effortlessly complimented the scenic landscape of the setting. To get her gown ready for the walk down the aisle, we began by shortening the straps and taking in the bodice through the sides and the small of the back. The boning was removed and reattached for perfect placement within the newly restructured bodice. Taking in the sides of the skirt and adding a dart helped emphasize the flare at the bottom, and all layers were hemmed to barely sweep the ground as she walked. A seven point French bustle finished off the alterations, elegantly securing the train for a night of dancing and celebrating.

Cheers to the Dracks! Sending warm congratulations and best wishes for a wonderful future together.

Cheers to these two on their first anniversary!

Mandy looked positively radiant in her off the shoulder fit and flare gown at her modern brewery wedding. The feminine silhouette and elegant lace details beautifully contrasted the industrial setting of the venue. She had all the classic glamor of a Hollywood starlet and was every bit as chic.

To get her gown ready for the big day, we began by carefully removing the lace appliqués on the bodice in order to do some restructuring: taking it in at the sides, lowering the draping across the front, shortening the arm drapes, and adding boning for additional support. The skirt was taken in through the hips and the lace border was removed to allow for hemming and shortening of the train, before being reattached for a seamless look. A three point over-bustle was added to transition the gown from ceremony “I dos” to a night of dancing and brews.

Happiest anniversary, Mandy and Josh! May your pints be full and your hearts be fuller!

Before the flowers and the vows, there was a bottle of bourbon and a hole in the ground.

Theres a sweet, little-known southern tradition meant to bring good weather and good luck on the wedding day. One month before the wedding, a couple digs a small hole at the place they’ll soon say “I do.” They bury an unopened bottle of bourbon in the ground upside down, leaving it until the big day. Legend says this simple act asks the sky for mercy: clear weather, soft light, and a day free of rain. When Erika and Mauricio unearthed their bottle of bourbon, that’s exactly what they got. Their August wedding in the north Georgia hills was a picture perfect day filled with love, laughter, bourbon, and bison (yes, bison).

But before all of that, we had to get Erika’s gorgeous gown every bit as perfect as her big day promised to be. As luck would have it, her stunning Justin Alexander gown fit like a glove. All that was needed was a hem and a 13 point over-bustle and she was headed for the hills to say “I do”.

Cheers to the Tragodara’s on their first anniversary! May your marriage be long and your bourbon be strong!

It’s anniversary week for the Rutkowskis!

I hope their first year of marriage has been every bit as magical as their dreamy woodland wedding was this time last year.

Natalie’s wedding day look was beautifully and uniquely her. I love a pop of color on a wedding gown, and Natalie looked absolutely enchanting in her whimsical off the shoulder gown with colorful floral appliqués. To get her dress wedding ready, we began by taking in the bodice through the sides and at the under-bust seam, then replacing the boning and appliqués along the seams for a flawless finish. The skirt was taken in at the sides and all layers were hemmed, with appliqués carefully repositioned as needed. The alterations were finished with a seven point over-bustle which looked sensational as she twirled on the dance floor.

Wishing these two a very happy first anniversary! May the years ahead be filled with as much joy as the day you said “I do”.

Some love stories take a little longer to write…and they’re all the more beautiful because of it.

Surrounded by their family and friends, with their children by their sides, Stephanie and Sam’s wedding day was full of love, joy, and that giddy “just married” feeling. You can sense the excitement and energy in every photo, especially as they danced into their reception after saying “I do”.

Stephanie’s feminine, whimsical ballgown was a departure from her usual style. She couldn’t wait to surprise her friends on her wedding day! Minimal alterations were needed to get her gown ready for the big reveal: we shortened the swag sleeves, hemmed all layers of the skirt, and added a 5 point American bustle attached at the waist for a gorgeous, twirl-proof after party look.

Cheers to Stephanie and Sam! May your next chapter be the best one yet.

Kara + Rob

From our first conversation, I could tell that Kara’s Independence Day wedding at the Atlanta History Center was going to be something special. Her gallery is one of those that truly takes your breath away. It was a beautifully elevated celebration with every moment carefully considered and every detail nothing short of exquisite.

Kara’s stunning Martina Liana gown perfectly complemented the timeless elegance of the setting. It just needed a few careful adjustments to get it ready for the big day. To start, the halter neck was shortened, the boning was reset, and the bodice was tailored along every seam for a flawless fit. The slip, crinoline, and satin bag hem with horsehair braid were hemmed to perfection and the alterations were completed with an elegant three-point over bustle.

Preserving Kara’s gown through The Wedding Gown Preservation Company was the final step, ensuring it remains just as beautiful as the day she said “I do”.

Warmest wishes to the Martins! May the rest of your life together be just as beautiful as your beginning.

On a picturesque spring day, beneath the canopy of an old oak tree with a sprawling vineyard for a backdrop, Savannah and Blake said “I do”.

Savannah channeled Old Hollywood glamour and luxury style in her stunning Justin Alexander fit and flare gown. I especially loved the way she accessorized her wedding day look. From her stacked pearl choker to her custom embroidered sleeves, every element had an elevated touch.

With a strapless figure-hugging charmeuse gown like Savannah’s, it is especially important to get the fit absolutely perfect. We began by taking in the princess seams at the small of the back down through the skirt. The interior waist band, which gives support to the strapless bodice, was shortened for a flawless contour, and the skirt was reattached at the new waist seam. The skirt layers were hemmed, and a barely-there ballroom bustle discreetly tucked the train away for a night of dancing and celebrating.

Congratulations to the Greens! May your love grow richer, deeper, and more wonderful with every passing year- aging like fine w**e.
