I don't have a pointe dancer, but last year I learned from one of the local ballet schools all about them. Pointe shoes come with no elastic or ribbons attached, and each dancer attaches them to fit their own feet and cuts them to the length they need. So I now know how to do it!🤓🩷This customer needed new shoes, and here they are.🩰 I still have a whole roll of the ribbon and can either do the sewing on my machine, or teach your dancer how to do it by hand!🧵🪡

The starts tomorrow🎉

I changed from my original pattern plan to one designed to fit the format of the 100 day project. One vase of flowers a day gives me a built in "good stopping point" for each day instead of doing too much and then burning out. I also made a new grime guard to fit my snap frame using some adorable trash panda fabric I have been hoarding.💜

Art vs Artist 2025


I couldn't help but make two - one for sewing art and one for non-sewing art. I do what I want.✌🏼😝

I am really proud of so many of the sewing makes I put my name on and sent out into the world this year. More than that, I am immensely grateful that people out there value my handmade, custom, and one-of-kind creations enough to pay me for them. Thank you!!🥹💙

Some highlights: I made lots of hoodies and cozy comfy children's clothes, upcycled a ton, got more comfortable with zipper tape, made a hand sewn tie from a wedding dress, and gave new life to more than half a dozen old quilts by turning them into other things.🪄

I also made more non-sewing art this year than probably any other year to date. Surrounding yourself with other creatives *matters* (in real life, online, or both!). I found some wonderful online artist friends, made a mixed media piece for an art collab within a greater art community, and had the pleasure of teaching and making art at with so many amazing humans. Showing up, experimenting, and fostering a safe place to create is the foundation for a creative life and I really felt that this year.❤️
