On a personal note, this marks an amazing turning point in The Simple Emotions, and I have learned a lot about myself through making it possible. Four years ago today I flew out to the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, thinking I would never be able to breathe properly during exercise again. After countless tests, specialists, procedures, and medications from Boston Children’s Hospital failed to provide answers. Four years ago today, in the middle of the pandemic, I flew out to Denver’s National Jewish Health Center for two weeks of intensive treatment and obtained my official diagnosis of an atypical form of Exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that such a dark, depressing, time would turn into something so positive and allow me to help so many people on high school and college campuses.
Being in a competitive and challenging school such as and releasing a product called “Simply Positive” often seemed counterintuitive. Throughout the development of this release, I often had a negative mindset, whether that be on midterm exams, the success of the brand, or frankly myself as a person. The stress has been overwhelming– jumping through logistical and mental hoops to finally reach this point. Walking around campus on the verge of a breakdown, not being able to fall asleep until 2 am when I needed to wake up for my 8 am class, and trying to silence the negative thoughts on a loop made the concept of Simply Positive seem intangible.
So with all of this emotional venting and celebration, please consider supporting through a “Simply Positive” purchase.
