This video has stirred up some controversy in the old and antique quilt community. It raises awareness about a growing trend to cut up quilts for use in new projects like the quilted chore coat. In doing so it asks important questions, though I don’t agree with Mary Fons’ view on preservation, conservation thinking, and repair on all accounts. These are some of the things we’ll be discussing in Ann Wasserman’s quilt repair and preservation virtual workshop that runs for six weeks on Zoom. There’s still time to register, I believe.
