I have always had a dream to create beautiful art pieces for others to enjoy. I also have what I consider to be one of the most gorgeous and fascinating places in the world within my reach...Hatteras Island. Bringing these together, I am thrilled to share with you all my handmade and painted jewelry pieces, home decor, and gifts made with real shells and treasures from along our North Carolina coa

stline. The shells that are used are found on the shore and did not have any living animal within it. They have been cleaned, some painted, and all have a protective crystal clear glaze. The do have some natural imperfections. I also have a love for photography, and I have many landscape photos that I have taken, edited, and printed over my visits the past few years that capture only an inkling of the true beauty and magnificence of the Outer Banks. The samples I have posted are just a few...there will be more to come. I will be posting the areas where The Swanky Whelk will be having pop-ups events. Every piece of sea glass tells its own story… and now I’d love to help tell yours. 🌊✨

I’ve started creating custom sea glass necklaces by request — whether you’re looking for a certain color, a meaningful piece from a special trip, a favorite beach vibe, or a gift with a personal touch.

This newest necklace is one of my favorites yet… beautifully weathered sea glass with amazing unique colors. It’s designed perfectly to feel like a little piece of the coast to carry with you everywhere you choose to go.

⚡️⚡️It was time for a little wall space update!⚡️⚡️

I had a big curio cabinet that needed to be moved and it left this wall sitting very empty.

Now, I love to collect art pieces from our travels to display in my home.
But, I finally decided this space would be perfect to hang one of my very own.

This is “First Morning Light”…and it’s probably my favorite print.☀️🌊🌅
It just gives an extra pop with the blues in the dining and kitchen area.
I added a very Swanky Whelk succulent along with my most beloved turquoise candle holders to finish off the look.🐚🌱🔥

It really opened up the area and added some pizazz….our family is growing very big, and we really needed that extra wiggle room behind our table. This turned out just like I wanted.💫

“God’s Brushstrokes at Dawn” 🌅

This sunrise completely stopped me in my tracks near The Point in Buxton, NC.
The colors just changed by the second — deep blues giving way to gold and soft pink. It was truly like watching a masterpiece unfold right before me.
Moments like this remind me why I love being out there before the world wakes… when it’s just the sea, the sky, and the great I Am.
