OTRA is a Uruguayan brand dedicated to the preservation of leather-working by cultivating a new generation of artisans in the trade. By paying close attention to design, each garment tells its own story, which together maintain the silent heritage of our renowned National Industry. Hoy 30 de Abril celebramos en nuestro país el “Día del Trabajador Rural”. Y rendimos homenaje a toda esa gente de trabajo duro que día a día sigue haciendo pat’ancha en nuestra campaña. Abriendo surcos y sembrando esperanza para que sigan brotando criollos entre los terrones, que mantengan nuestra tradición, oficios y trabajo de campo vivos en el futuro.

El molde de esta prenda tiene más de 60 años. La lona es sanforizada de Calidad Alpargatas de los 70s. El forro, lana Paylana de la misma época. Y la prenda fue hecha en nuestro taller — un espacio que data de los años 50-60, preservado y mudado a Ciudad Vieja para mantenerlo vivo.
No hacemos réplicas. Honramos y enaltecemos nuestra historia para revivirla.
Hecho en Uruguay. Siempre.

The pattern of this jacket is over 60 years old. The fabric is a sanforized canvas from Calidad Alpargatas, from the 70s. The lining, Paylana wool from the same era. And this new piece was crafted in our workshop — a space dating back to the 1950s-60s, preserved and relocated to Ciudad Vieja to keep it alive.
We don’t make replicas. We honor and celebrate our history to revive it.
Made in Uruguay. Always.
