"I think you need to go through some stuff to really appreciate life and understand what it means to persevere, overcome and have faith. I think those tough times make you a stronger person.” - Judith Hill
Life is littered with highs and lows, struggles and times of sweet relief. It’s been over three weeks now since Cat. 5 Hurricane Maria, adorned in all her glory, came dancing at our doors. In Maria’s wake, we have met head-on with many challenges where fear, frustration, uncertainty, and grief threatened to push us over the edge. And yet, even in the midst of all of the STUFF, glimmers of hope are found in the contagious laughter of a child, the soft smile of a loved one, in the understanding hug of a customer; or the drive-by, check-in of a family friend or neighbor.
“How Maria treat you?” We’ve been asked this question so many times. Our response? “We sustained some damage BUT we are alive and grateful.” We are alive! We are grateful!
At Sweet Magnolia, we look forward to seeing, once again, a fully rebuilt, bustling St. Croix and the Virgin Islands. We look forward to the ring of laughter in our streets. We look forward to a thriving economy where many of our Caribbean friends will continue to find refuge. We are forever .
