In Memory of Graham Greene (1952–2025)
Graham Greene was more than an actor.
He was a storyteller, a cultural bridge, and a quiet guardian of Native American identity.
Through his roles, he gave Indigenous characters something Hollywood had long denied them — depth, dignity, and humanity.
He refused stereotypes. He chose truth.
Whether portraying elders, warriors, fathers, or healers, Graham Greene carried Native presence with respect — reminding the world that Indigenous people are not relics of the past, but living cultures with voices, values, and wisdom.
Beyond the screen, he represented pride without anger, strength without noise, and resistance through integrity.
For many Native youth, seeing him meant seeing themselves — not as myths, but as real, resilient people.
His legacy is not only in films and awards.
It lives in every story told honestly,
every culture represented with care,
and every future generation that knows their identity matters.
Thank you, Graham Greene,
for honoring the ancestors,
for protecting the stories,
and for reminding the world that Native voices belong — yesterday, today, and always.

Incredible shot of bison in Yellowstone National Park. 🦬❄️
In the heart of Yellowstone, at -34°F, a bison stands resilient—covered in snow and frost, facing straight into the storm. Bison instinctively know that the fastest way through the storm is to face it head-on.
Bison are the only animal that turn into a snowstorm rather than away from it; because they instinctively know that walking into the storm will get them out of the storm quicker. There may be a life lesson for all of us humans. This courage not only exemplifies resilience and a smart way to power through life’s problems; but also creates a backdrop for truly majestic photos!

It was a Cheyenne Woman named Buffalo Calf Road Woman who killed George Armstrong Custer with his own saber at the Battle of Little Bighorn on June 25, 1876. Cheyenne women wear silver drops on their belt to this day to honor her as she proudly wore the saber she claimed from him on that prestigious day.

As the Cheyenne story goes:

Buffalo Calf Road Woman approached Custer, grabbed his saber, and stabbed him, eventually killing him. She told the General “he had it coming.” As Custer lay dead on the ground, Cheyenne and Arapaho women used their awls to stab his ears. It is told that the women chanted “we do this to you so that you will listen to our people in the next world.” The women referred to Custer as Attacker at Dawn because of his role in the Wash*ta Massacre of 1868, in which he attacked Black Kettle’s camp and captured 53 women and children. Many women were r***d as their village burned.

The woman who stabbed Custer claimed his saber. In the days and years to follow, she wore it honorably hanging from her leather belt. This woman was highly respected by all for her warrior deed. After her death, many Cheyenne women continue to honor and remember her by wearing a silver drop on their side attached to their leather belts.

Dignity is not negotiable.
This message reminds us that standing up for your people, your land, and your identity is not an act of rebellion — it is an act of self-respect.
For many Native nations, resistance was never about aggression. It was about survival. It was about refusing to let culture, language, and history be erased. Holding on to who you are became the strongest form of strength.
True resistance often looks quiet: protecting traditions, honoring ancestors, teaching the next generation, and refusing to disappear.
Even today, this spirit lives on wherever communities stand firm for their rights, their voices, and their future. Because dignity doesn’t come from power — it comes from knowing who you are and refusing to surrender it.

She opened her land not for attention, but for responsibility. What followed was fear, force, and a moment that revealed how power reacts when Indigenous voices refuse to step aside.

She may not have lived to see the outcome she hoped for, yet her stand reshaped conversations far beyond that place. Courage like this does not disappear—it echoes.

Her legacy reminds us that resistance is not measured by victory alone, but by the truths it forces the world to face.
