THE IDENTITY PROJECT. This garment I created was a reflection on self identity and who I am. Bold, fearless, authentic, full but yet mysterious and intriguing. It symbolizes my signature hair silhouette which in real-time, signifies my heritage as a young Afro Latina woman. Of course I added gold grommets onto the 20 pound crown piece as they reflect my love for gold hardware as it’s such a warming and familiar element. This blazer dress was lined with a leopard satin fabric as well. 80 hours of adding boning and stitching the pieces together later , this look came together. This statement piece was meant for a woman to take up space in a humble way. 👑
