it seems that Boot Scooting has exploded in the Perth pub and club scene lately (I've tried it but I tend to go left when others go right...) These sexy hand made Leather tassel, and leather/snake boots in gorgeous colours such as Turquoise, hot pink, soft pink, tan or black are my own original designs made by my Balinese family who have been my loyal tailors and boot makers for 15 years, and the good news is these boots last!!! Unlike a $40 pair from Shein that you'll only get 1 or 2 wears out of before they fall apart. I'm not kidding, I saw a lady in the most killer boots at H***y one night who danced 3 songs then sat outside pi**ed off because her zip got jammed and half her boot fell off! I kid you not.

And before she left for the airport we played dresups again like when we were kids. I couldnt believe how perfect the new Natalie dress in green Coachella print is on Cass, even though she said she has nowhere to wear it out when she gets home to her country town in the Yarra Valley. I said ‘are you kidding? Wear it anywhere, wear it to school pick up, wear it to Woollies, or the St Angas Pub!!! A pretty dress needs no reasons to be worn if it makes you feel good!

So so great to have you here my darling little cuzzie, thanks for the chats and good times, and the big fat telling off you gave me that I needed that only family can get away with doing!

Today I’ll be setting up space in a beautiful collaborative shop called the heArt studio in Freo - back in the fashion game, dressing women of all shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds!

This gorgeous shop has a yoga, meditation, tarot reading and healing workshop space upstairs, colabs with various local artisans, and is run by 2 like minded Freo women who love supporting and bringing together our community,of Freo goodness.

And ofcourse this calls for a celebration, date to be confirmed - watch this space.

That dress I’m wearing is a brand new sample which arrived in the new shipment. It felt lovely to float around in and I’ll defo be ordering more. My tailors hand dye the fabric and that look is known as Chibari (nothing to do with kinky ropes - that’s called Chibori - almost same but different 😉)

I think I’ll have to name this dress the Cassie! And don’t you think the Chibari fabric will look great in Mens shirts too?

The brewing boys will be pouring their $10 bevvies, plus a line up of awesome live entertainment kicking off with Freo superstar Dave Watkins and band, plus our world famous belly dancer Amoura who always gets the party started (apoologies if anyone came to see her dance yesterday, she had a last minute booking with the King of Dubai) DJ Fish will spin some vinyls, and fingers crossed mega legend - who’s been touring across the country recently - will make an appearance and hopefully even team up with our girl Shei Manson - to perform their world famous in Freo ‘ShakshukaSong’ if their busy, famous schedule allows 🤞🤞

Im also hoping to bribe my boy Jas If Widhx Erich aka DJ SKANK to dig out his decks

Michael Slade - Freo’s finest free styling genius will wax lyrical the mic and blow your minds plus more to be announced 🥳🥳

Only just sat down for the day, best day takings wise so far - a massive thankyou to community for supporting me! Most of my feasting friends are Freo community who support my madcap adventures and I am truly grateful 🙏🙏

But there’s a certain magic that happens at FOMO on a daily basis that I almost cannot put in to words other than the spiritual act of gifting without expectation and receiving humbly.

These beautiful humans pictured below rocked up the other night with loads of sushi to welcome me and wish me luck, I couldn’t possibly let them leave empty handed so I gifted in return too, this sort of thing happens daily and friendships are forming constantly - I could tell so many more stories, but most of all I want to say a big fat SORRY to all of you friends of mine from near and far, from long ago, histories of encounters who visit and support me and I don’t and can’t have time to talk for long because in my mind in that open, sexy kitchen I’m loving so much I have 100,000 things to think about and attend to even when it seems like it’s quiet, until I train my new chef to be me.

There are broths boiling, soups simmering, tajines tenderising meats and salads needing garnishing and presenting - health and safety compliances I have to adhere to and management to win over if I’m to stay for a long time, not to mention decisions to be made like if I skip along in my coffee van up north or notskie (notskie - the art of staying after deciding not to goskie!)

So again thankyou for your support, snd come down to FOMO and check out all the other wonderful food vendors too, I’m in foodie heaven here and the sushi train a few vendors down from me is one of my faves, so delish, especially their poached salmon nigiri with caviar!! O to the M to the G!!!

Hey all, sorry if you came by last night to my pop up FOMO FREO - I lost my voice and was worried I was getting run down so packed up early to head home and rest. Feel refreshed after a good sleep and ready for the day!

Been super busy training up my team and deciding on signage, as well as cooking and talking talking talking too much - so I’ve been a little quiet on the socials front as I’m deciding my moves once my pop up month finishes in only a couple of weeks. Management are lovely as are all the other stall holders, plus I’m loving being in centre of Freo - with all the characters and energy around there’s definitely NEVER a dull moment!

Im negotiating a longer lease with management, they have offered an attractive deal, but do I pack up for winter and hit the road North with my coffee van or…

Anyway just for the now - I’m trading today and tomorrow for lunch and dinner.

And then Sunday - MOTHER’S DAY EXTRAVANGANZA - Shakshuka and Bubbles $25 - plus live entertainment including our favourite and world famous belly dancer AmouraBrenda Miller 💃

I have a few seats left if you would like to book - I’ll be prettying up the tables, serving hot mint tea, plus SEXY Moroccan pancakes with caramelised pear and double cream,
and DELICIOUS Frittata, goats cheese, roast tomatoes served with Hummus and Turkish bread!

Yum maybe I’ll get my boys to book a table for me too 🥳 💃🥳👑

Exciting news my latest shipment has arrived!! I’m negotiating a retail space opposite my new kitchen at FOMO, central Freo so hopefully that’ll be up and running in the next 2 weeks, meanwhile…

EAT, PLAY, LOVE - Opening for dinner from 5pm today - serving up Moroccan things - don’t come before then coz I wanna be ready for you and I’ve been making sweet love to my new kitchen all day - that takes time and patience but I am certainly in my happy place which resonates in the food I’ve been preparing with LOVE, come EAT and PLAY with me at Fomo from 5pm.

I think I’ll be doing only dinner tomorrow night too, as I’ve got a feeling I won’t have anything left after tonight. From next week it’ll be lunches and dinners, and my official opening celebration will be on Sat 13/May, put that in your calendar for an arvo/eve colab of Freo’s finest 💃🕺🏿❤️

Has anyone ever encountered this creepy fruit thing? They’re called Buddha’s hands and I’m gonna have a play and see what they’re all about! It’s a citrus, with fingers and sphincters 😆

So this fella sitting outside of my new sexy kitchen/work place says “are you a chef?” I said yeah, he goes “ya look too young to be a chef”
I laughed and said you don’t have your glasses on, he said I don’t wear em, so I told him I’m 48, is that too young to be a chef do you think? He said you don’t look 48! Do ya drink/smoke/take drugs? I said ‘what are you the party police?’

Then I told him a theory I have about life and age.

I said “Simon, I believe that when a person gets up out of a chair and makes a groaning sound with hand on back and says geez I’m getting old!’ then yes that person looks and sounds like an old fart! But if you spring up, minus sound affects and get on with life, you slow that process right down - it’s a mindset….”

“Do ya have a husband?” Asked Simon looking slightly baffled

I said “I’ve had 2 of those! Oh wait thats also part of my theory!”

And in I went in for an over-share and a way to deviate Simon from making an attempt at being a third husband contender.

“Stress is also ageing! I don’t have any annoying husbands dressing me out, and not interested in any more at this stage of my life! Stress, I believe, is a big contributing factor to making humans look and feel all agey! (Yes agey - you don’t hear young crew say ‘I’m getting younger! So no one should say ‘I’m getting so old, because who cares! Just have fu***ng fun!’

And I told him about how I watched my Mumma’s body physically deteriorate due to MS that caused attacks on her central nervous system which left her wheelchair bound due to stress and worrying about things that were out of her control - world wars, politics, natural disasters and things like the plants not getting watered the night before which is a big reason I made a choice about 10 years ago to switch off from commercial tv and radio and dance around in happy, colourful, slightly uninformed bliss world instead!

Simon “so you like to dance?”

Me “I live to dance!”

Simon “well that makes sense then! Dancing is the best thing you can do for your body! If you’re at the gym pumping weights it tenses your body and makes people look all serious but dancing releases endorphins, relaxes your muscles and works out every part of the body effortlessly!”

And just like that Simon won me over, and we’ve decided to get married and dance away into the sunset together!

Ok that last paragraph I made up for affect, but I did say to Simon, “thanks for the chats mate, I should be trading in a couple of days pop back for a feed!” Simon said he will, shook my hand, thanked me and shuffled off with his sleeping bag and few belongings.

This is a one month pop up to start off with so come on down my G’s and let’s
