All these photos of me were taken in our first year. I birthed a business and a baby within 3 months, without very much experience of either before I did so.

When I think back now to decisions we made, and the lessons we learned, it’s amazing the growth we experienced! We didn’t really think through any kind of marketing campaign, or really how helpful it was to be a bodyfeeding parent when we launched.

When I talked to other small business owners, they suggested we get our customers to send us photos - not realizing that for many of the people who bought our shirts, those opportunities where you feel comfortable taking, let alone sharing a photo, are few and far between.

I became the default person for demonstrating how the shirts worked.!(My youngest kiddo’s lactation journey is very well documented!)

But I also meant that I had to become comfortable with being photographed. Fast.

And as someone who was never really comfortable being photographed before they grew and birthed two humans, this was probably the steepest learning curve I traveled.

I can honestly say that being forced to take as many photos of myself as I did in those years just after growing a kid, taught me a lot about how to love my changing body.

And being in community where all bodies are celebrated and loved, has been life-changing for me. Thank you. To everyone of you who sent us a photo and helped normalize lactating bodies, from the bottom of my heart I thank you.

Thanks again to the amazing Lauren at for designing the shirt and creating the art for it. I love that it has a pump on it and acknowledges all those parents who put in so so so many hours and energies pumping milk for their babies. You all work so hard and deserve all the flowers!

And Out Come The B***s is closing after 5 wonderful years in business.

We couldn’t be prouder of the community we have built and the relationships we have made.

Our goal was to help punk parents find clothes they could feed their babies in without compromising their identity or their style.

We have sewn and sold thousands of shirts to breastfeeding and chestfeeding parents across the world.

We created size inclusive clothing that punched back at the gender binary to be worn by lactating parents.

We commissioned art and photography (exclusively) by women and non-binary artists.

We partnered with bands to turn their merch into accessible clothing for their lactating fans.

We collaborated with other small punk businesses.

And we are proud of the money we raised and donated to community organizations that support Black birth workers, and LGBTQIA+ support.

Being in community with you all has been one of the biggest achievements of our lives.

There is still a need for body-feeding clothing that doesn’t suck.

Our closing doesn’t change that.

Our final day of business will be Dec 31st, 2022.
