The Art of Cloud Dancer.

I loved the softness of the colour and how effortlessly timeless it felt. It gave us such a beautiful starting point for something romantic, delicate and a little dreamy.

The bubble hem was another detail I was especially excited about. It’s such a beautiful bridal trend at the moment, and I loved the idea of bringing that voluminous, sculptural silhouette into the shoot.

The dress was luxurious, feminine and wonderfully dramatic, with all the volume needed to make an impression in the beautiful historic Rand Club.

From there, the little details began to come together: soft textures, refined florals, gentle movement and that elegant European-inspired feeling we wanted throughout.

There’s something lovely about seeing an idea grow like this. You start with a colour, a feeling and a few little thoughts, and then suddenly you’re standing in the middle of it, watching everything come together.

I’m so happy to share a little glimpse of Cloud Dancer with you.

Some details never fade from fashion.

After sharing the beautiful 1760 portrait by François Boucher, I couldn’t help but think of this bridal look.

The soft ribbon tied at the neck feels like a modern interpretation of the delicate bow choker seen in the painting. More than 260 years apart, yet connected by the same love of feminine details, romance, and elegance.

It’s a beautiful reminder that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. Sometimes from a bridal boutique, and sometimes from a painting hanging in a museum.

Some details are simply timeless.

Portrait of Marie-Emilie Baudouin, the artist’s Daughter: Francois Bouche, 1760.

Proof that bows have been stealing hearts for centuries.

Long before bows became the detail everyone wanted in their wardrobe, they were already being painted into history. In this beautiful 1760 portrait by François Boucher, it is the soft blush ribbon tied around Marie-Emilie Baudouin’s neck that catches my eye.

There is something so effortlessly feminine about a bow choker. It doesn’t demand attention, yet somehow becomes the detail you remember. Soft, romantic, and a little playful, it feels just as relevant today as it did over 260 years ago.

Perhaps that’s why bows continue to find their way into bridal fashion. A ribbon at the neck, a bow on a gown, a delicate finishing touch that adds a little romance to the story.

Some details simply never go out of style.

“Nadia May was n experience op sy eie, sy sal altyd jou groet met n glimlag en selfs op haar besigste dae het sy tyd gemaak. Ek het die idee van my turquoise rok vir haar gebring en sy het my drome waar gemaak, ‘ń stunning rok wat ook nog gemaklik is, ek kon in hom slaap as ek wou!

Die silwer rok het ons by ń ander plek aangepas en sowaar was dit een van haar rokke. Sy het ook die tyd gemaak om die silwer rok mooi te laat pas op nommer 99 en ek kon nie gelukkiger wees met albei rokke nie!

Albei rokke se agterkant was met fyn detail gemaak en het amazing gelyk, elke detail van albei rokke was netjies en beautiful.

Sy is een amazing designer en ek beveel haar aan vir enige meisie of vrou wat hulle droom rok wil maak!
