Fair Fashion: Why It Costs More, and Why It Matters
Starting Tulua Verde taught me that transparency isn’t just a buzzword – it’s the foundation of every decision we make.
Our swimwear is produced in Muizenberg, Cape Town, in a small women-owned studio (). I chose this studio because it aligns with my values: small-scale production, direct relationships with the makers, and sustainability at every step.
Each piece is hand-sewn in small batches (sometimes only 12 per style!) to avoid waste. We also use a high-tech sustainable fabric made from regenerated polyester. The result? Swimwear that’s soft, long-lasting, and created with care.
Because fair practices shouldn’t just be promised – they should be lived. ✨

Why we didn’t do Black Friday 🖤🌱
Black Friday is all about more, more, more – but at Tulua Verde, we believe in less and better.
Here’s why we chose to sit this one out:
🌍Sustainability first: Black Friday encourages overconsumption and waste – the opposite of what we stand for. Our small-batch production ensures no overstock, no overproduction, and no unnecessary waste.
💚Fair prices all year: Every piece we create is handmade with care, using sustainable fabrics and ethical practices. We price our products fairly, respecting the people and resources behind them – no discounts needed to reflect their true value.
✨Conscious choices matter: We encourage intentional buying, where every purchase is meaningful, not impulsive. Because fashion should never come at the cost of the planet or people.
Instead of Black Friday, we celebrate thoughtful consumption, slow fashion, and the beauty of buying less but better. 🌊
