Every bag is made individually, this means, like hand knotted rugs, there may be very slight variations between each product. We work with artisans who are self employed and our policy is one of fair trade.
FOAK Africa sources raw materials locally and all leather is sustainably and ethically sourced. Tapestry fabrics are individually selected to cater for clientele with discerning style.

Crafted by locals. Sustainably sourced raw materials, up-cycled content and locally made.

Nearly 20 years ago I traveled to the USA and bought some amazing organic shampoo. In small print the company ethos declared the product was an 'environmentally conscious option'.

Today this conversation is ever more important and our consumer spending should focus on buying less quantity, and more quality. The world is filled with fast fashion, filling up trash heaps at a rate never before experienced. I don't know what the statistics of world waste are, but unless we buy less, the impact on resources will only worsen the quality of life on our planet.

What is the solution- when we can't all afford high end products from the big brands?

I would like to think these beautiful few of a kind, private label handbags will offer the woman with a taste for quality, originality and value for money something really special and unique.

These beautifully made bags with and individually selected fabrics in limited quantities are versatile too!
