It's been a heck of a ride, but we're back in bookstores at last!

It's too long of a story for insta, but suffice it to say, as a small, independent author/publisher, it is incredibly difficult to get into book stores. Even opening a dialogue with most of them can feel impossible.

It took us more than a year to find a distributor to get us onto shelves. Then, despite a year of steady sales, it gradually became clear that we weren't with honest people.

So, it was back to square one. It took more than another year to find a new partner, but we eventually got picked up by , who have been wonderful so far!

Seeing our book on shelves at the author's nearest local book store was a huge thrill. The Sea Point has a couple of copies on shelf, as do many major bookstores around South Africa. Keep an eye out!

Turtlebird Books was founded late in 2021, with the intention of independently publishing children's books made with rhyme, wonder and kindness.

The last two-and-a-half years have been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, stops and starts, and challenges and learnings. Although it's been a bumpy ride sometimes, we wouldn't change it for the world!

After a period of relative quiet through most of 2023, we're proud to announce that we have some really exciting projects lined up, with TWO new books planned for launch in June/July this year, both in South Africa and worldwide!

We're so excited to share more of the things we love with you and the little ones in your life! To everyone who has supported us so far, we love and appreciate you more than you'll ever know. THANK YOU!

A little peek at an one of several really exciting projects were working on at the moment!

This one is about good people losing their way as they get lost in social media and devices. Illustrated and written by Gord Laws, "The People Who Forgot to be Nice" is one of two new Turtlebird Books set for a June/July release this year!

We're just so excited about everything we've got going on at the moment, and we just can't wait to share it with all of you!
