RaRa is a design studio owned and run by women, creating unique leather accessories with passion and dedication. We love crafting sentimental treasures that are as pleasurable to wear as they are beautiful to behold, and can be cherished for life. Our designs take inspiration from animals and nature, and from our founder’s roots in Argentina, where she absorbed her mother’s flair for arts and crafts and colour. Through our products, we seek to empower young creatives, while maintaining fair trade and environmentally sustainable practices. We use vegetable-tanned leather and waxed threads produced locally.
The Story Behind : Oulik (Why baby shoes?)
Rara Studio founder Alejandra Olivera started producing unique leather baby shoes, wanting to create something to celebrate her passion for children, and the imagination and creativity of her childhood home in Argentina. Then she chanced upon the perfect word to name these adorable specimens: oulik. Conveying almost breathtaking sense of tenderness we feel for those little ones in our lives, this Afrikaans word captures perfectly both the essence of the brand and the feel of its products.
