Happy Tuesday, everyone! 💃🏻

Previously we shared what Shweshwe material is and today we would like to share why we chose this specific material for our bags.

We choose shewshew material for our bags because it a commonly recognize fabric in this part of the Southern African region.

I wanted only the best material for our bags and this material was IT for me. The colours are vibrant, colorful and bright and I thought that this is exactly what South Africa is all about, the "Rainbow Nation". 🌈

Happy Heritage Day to all our followers! 🇿🇦🇨🇩

Let me tell you a little bit more about the fabric of my hand fan. The fabric is called Kente.

Kente ( also known as Akan: kente or nwetoma; Ewe: kete; Dagbani: Chinchini) refers to a Ghanaian textile, made of handwoven cloth, strips of silk and cotton.

Historically the fabric was worn in a toga-like fashion by royalty among ethnic groups such as the Ashanti and Ewe.

It is also worn by queens, princesses and women of Dagbon.
