After 12months of transition we have landed with both feet firmly planted in Cape Town and as a celebratory homecoming we’ll be hosting a once-off offer online starting tomorrow.⠀
⠀
As we cement this new chapter, it has got me reminiscing about the past and just how much I value the last 7years. ⠀
⠀
This is where we launched our online store starting in the living room of our apartment. I remember I could count the shoe boxes stacked along the living room wall. This is where we sent our first few parcels overseas and dreamt of following suit. It’s where we set up the commune and were lucky enough to work alongside a collective of like-minded local makers. From working with creatives to document our projects and share stories to setting up our pop-up shops cross country, to meeting the people that support the work that we put forward.⠀
⠀
I hold these memories close, not only because I know I will never experience them again but also because these moments represent the reward of team work, the generous support of our creative community, new acquaintances that have since grown into deep friendships and some of my most valuable life lessons learnt.⠀
⠀
I still feel overwhelmed thinking about the hopes and dreams that we have for this small business. There is still so much that we want to learn and do on this slow fashion path towards sustainability.⠀
⠀
But for now, I’m taking a moment to ponder on the past and take stock of all that we have done together.⠀
⠀
Thank you to the incredible community of JS friends and family that made all of this possible. And to those that have journeyed with us, whether its been from the start or for the past few weeks — your continued support is our reward.
