One of our favourite things will always be the story behind an order 🤍

We recently made this lemon sweater for a lovely customer…
and when she came to collect, we asked if there was a story behind it.

She told us she had just gotten married and that she had added a Dale Raine voucher to her kitchen tea registry - hoping for a personalised piece she could treasure. 🥹

She received contributions towards it as a wedding gift…
and chose this sweater 🍋🤍

How special is that?

That something we made could be part of such a meaningful season in someone’s life.

Our photo-to-line drawing sweaters turn meaningful moments or memories into something you can wear, hold onto and treasure for years to come.

It’s been so special seeing how many of you have chosen these for Father’s Day gifts since we launched them.

And something that is special is that these actually started because I wanted to create something meaningful for my own dad. 🤍

A gift that felt personal.
A gift that told a story.
A gift that meant something.

And somehow, that little idea has become one of our most-loved products.

For the dads, grandpas and father figures who mean the world -

Before starting Dale Raine, I could easily spend hours in a fabric shop…
looking, feeling, imagining -
and almost always leaving with way more than I planned. 😂

What started as a side hustle…
has turned into a full-blown “we need to order more fabric” situation. 😅

But in all seriousness 🤍
sewing brings me, and the Dale Raine team, so much joy.

This little business has grown into something we could have never imagined.
And we’re still learning, still improving, still figuring things out as we go.

I still feel like a little kid before Christmas when I collect rolls of fabric…
and honestly, I hope that feeling never goes away.

The weather has started to cool down and suddenly all we want is clothing that feels soft, comfortable and cosy.

One of our biggest goals at Dale Raine is to keep things simple and create pieces that feel like a hug.

A letter to my brother 🤍

It’s been 10 years without you…
and somehow it still feels like both a lifetime ago and just yesterday.

So much has changed.
There’s so much I wish I could show you, tell you, share with you.

You’re still such a big part of my life -
in the little things, in the big moments…
in the memories that make me smile,
and the ones that still bring tears.

I lost you… but I got to know you.
I got to love you.
I got to be loved by you.

And even in the grief, I will always be grateful for that 🤍

Someone once asked me…
if I knew the pain of losing you, would I still choose to know you and love you?

And my answer will always be yes.
Over and over again.

Because even though your time on earth was short, I will forever be grateful that I could be your sister, that I could love you and for all the lessons you taught me (and still teach me).

Thank you for encouraging me to be brave.
For showing me to always look for the good in the world.

I love you. I miss you. Always 🤍

We have officially entered our busy season 🤍

And while our hands and hearts are very full, it’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness and forget to pause, breathe, and take it all in.

So here’s a little look into the last few weeks at Dale Raine 🧵✨
🤍 We’ve made and packaged quite a few bulk orders — thank YOU for trusting us with them.

🤍 Mother’s Day season kept us very busy, and the photo-to-line drawings will always hold a special place in my heart🥹

🤍 We’ve packaged so many meaningful orders lately, and every single one still means the world to us. Thank YOU for your support.

🤍 We collected rolls of fabric — something that still feels surreal to me. When I first started Dale Raine, I would buy 3 metres of fabric at a time… and now we collect rolls. Thank you, Jesus.

🤍 We created a few keepsake sweaters and got to write some special gift messages for Mother’s Day orders. Those moments always stay with us.

🤍 And in between all the sewing and packaging, we also celebrated Thandi’s birthday 🎈🤍

As things get even busier over the next few weeks, we ask for a little grace as we work as quickly (and carefully) as we can to get your orders to you.
