Here in Johannesburg it is a gorgeous Friday - I hope you all are having a wonderful day too :D Today's DIY Friday Inspiration is something I'm definitely going to be doing soon. Print a picture of your beloved animal or even a cute family photo onto fabric at a t-shirt printing shop. Trim around the picture leaving about an inch around for hemming. Then sew the front onto a matching back piece, with the picture facing inwards. Leave a small gap open to turn the sewn pillow the right way out and stuff it with pillow filling. Sew up the hole by hand or with a machine. The options are endless for customised scatter cushions and they make a wonderful personalised gift! ♥

Today's DIY Friday Inspiration incorporates my absolute favourite home decor - creative and pretty lights! Buy a 'rope light' (you can find them on special at many stores after Christmas) and twist it into a word. This inspiration photo has used the word 'dream'.. perfect for peaceful bedroom lighting ♥

Hello everyone ♥ today's DIY Friday Inspiration is a beautiful and rustic way to reinvent plain planks of wood by writing inspiring words on them. Distress the plank by hammering nails into it, sanding it and applying a thin wash of matt finish paint. Then print words in reverse with an ink-jet printer. Lay these over the plank and with a wet paintbrush work small amounts of water over the paper. Rub the paper firmly with the top of a bottle cap, allowing the words to transfer to the wood. Slowly remove the paper and fill in the gaps with a koki pen or thin paintbrush. Use these pretty signs as inspiration ♥

Happy Friday everyone! I hope the first week of 2013 has brought you creativity, love and joy ♥ today's DIY inspiration is a useful and pretty 'upcycle' of old decorative frames. Pick these up in a second hand store and spray-paint them in the colour of your choice. Attach thin metal sheets under decorative paper to make the boards magnetic. Another option is to cover the paper with transparent plastic (available in fabric stores), allowing you to write removable notes with whiteboard markers! ♥

Today's DIY Inspiration is a great way to refresh yourself on these hot summer days ♥ Pink Lemonade ♥ To make the purée: mix 250g berries in a blender and push the mixture through a fine sieve to remove seeds. Stir in one table spoon of lemon juice and 50g of sugar. Mix the purée into a cup of lemon juice, 200g of sugar and 5 cups of cold water. Serve in jars tied with ribbons on a hot day ♥
