Good night everyone 🙏 and Happy Youth Day.
Although I say "Happy Youth Day," deep down I struggle to say it with joy—because many of our youth are no longer truly happy. The youth of 1976 gave their lives for our freedom, and while we may be free politically, socially and economically many of today’s youth are still left behind.

Opportunities often circulate only among a few—those connected to ward committees and councillors—while the rest are sidelined. Let’s not deceive ourselves by pretending that everything is okay. Young people are struggling. Many are depressed, some are turning to su***de. We have graduates with Honours, Masters, and even PhDs who still can’t find meaningful work.

Yes, some may argue that success isn’t only found in education—but it’s unfair that even when young people get internships, they are often exploited so that companies can profit without offering long-term opportunities.

As today’s youth, we must draw inspiration from the youth of June 16. Let’s adopt an Afrocentric approach—let’s support each other, collaborate, and build a value chain that creates real change and tackles unemployment in our communities.

Thank you so much for your feedback — I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. 🙏

You raise a very valid point. While this post focused on my journey and the story behind Ukleva Akalast Clothing, I do agree that showcasing our actual products is also very important, especially for potential customers. I’ll definitely be sharing more visuals of our designs and collections soon!

That said, Ukleva Akalast is not just about fashion — it’s about storytelling, transformation, and purpose. Our value proposition is rooted in more than just clothing. We sell stories that people can relate to. We help build brands through storytelling. We raise awareness that even when you’re going through hard times, your struggle can become a solution, and that solution can create real value — even income.

So every piece we create, every quote we print, and every campaign we launch is about reminding people: you can rise, you can rebuild, and you can inspire others while doing it.

Thanks again for your insight. You’ve helped push me to keep balancing the story and the product — and I’m excited to share more of both with the community soon. 🔥👕💡

June 1st, 2025: The Midpoint Milestone 🔥

Today, we stand at the majestic threshold of the year’s midpoint. Six months have passed, and six remain. It is 01 June 2025 — a symbolic checkpoint on our journey to greatness. As we forge ahead, let us first and foremost raise our voices in celebration of Youth Month, honoring the dreamers, the doers, and the disruptors of this generation.

Let us not walk this path alone. Support one another. Collaborate. Elevate. The world belongs to those who move together with shared purpose and relentless intent.

In the immortal words of Robert Greene, from The 48 Laws of Power:

"When you show yourself to the world and display your talents, you naturally stir all kinds of resentment, envy, and other manifestations of insecurity... you cannot spend your life worrying about the petty feelings of others."

So keep pushing. Never shrink. Never give up.

Take inspiration from the story of James Dyson — the visionary inventor who faced 5,126 rejections before perfecting his revolutionary vacuum cleaner. Where others saw failure, he saw refinement. Where others quit, he persisted. Today, Dyson stands as a global innovation empire, built not in comfort — but in rejection, resistance, and relentless resilience.

Let this be your reminder:
Rejection is redirection. Failure is refinement. Your vision is valid.

Let’s finish the second half of 2025 with fire in our hearts and purpose in our steps. The future is not something we wait for — it is something we build.

I am truly grateful as Ukleva Akalast Clothing Founder to attend the Africa Day 2025 celebration at the Greyville Convention Centre. The event was hosted by the Durban University of Technology in partnership with the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the University of Zululand,Mangosuthu University Of Technology and the eThekwini Municipality.

As a Black South African youth, I proudly support inclusivity and partnership among universities. These collaborations are vital for economic growth, reducing unhealthy competition, and promoting a shared vision rooted in an Afrocentric approach. We are all African—no one should face discrimination. Together, we can create opportunities for all.

When we partner and work together, there are no limits to how far we can go. It was indeed a productive and inspiring day, celebrating unity and progress with fellow Africans from across the continent. 🙏

"In a world where ambition often masks as virtue, Ukleva Akalast Clothing stands as armor for those who refuse to be devoured by wolves."

We don’t just sell fashion—we craft survival. Every stitch is strategy. Every quote is a call to rise. As Niccolò Machiavelli warned: “A man who wishes to be good at all times will come to ruin among so many who are not good.”

We teach our people: Power isn't about popularity—it's about knowing when to roar like a lion, and when to move like a fox.

In the streets, in business, in life—mercy is earned, not given. Inspired by The 48 Laws of Power, we know: hesitation is defeat, and survival demands clarity, courage, and sometimes—getting your hands dirty for the greater good.

Ukleva Akalast isn't just clothing. It's a mindset. A movement. A message.

My name is Khulani Hlongwane, and I am the founder of Ukleva Akalast Clothing—a brand born out of resilience, purpose, and the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The idea for Ukleva Akalast Clothing came to life in 2018, during my first year at Durban University of Technology (DUT). At that time, I was facing serious financial challenges. With no one able to support me back home and delays in NSFAS allowances, I was pushed into a corner. I contemplated every possible way to survive—some choices were risky, others potentially life-changing.

Rather than follow a negative path, I chose to create a solution. I asked myself, “How can I turn my pain into purpose?” That’s when the concept of Ukleva Akalast Clothing was born—a brand that not only helped me find my voice but became a platform for empowering others.

What started as a necessity has grown into a passion. Today, Ukleva Akalast Clothing is a bold and inspiring fashion movement that represents streetwear culture while addressing real social issues in South Africa. Our mission is to become one of South Africa’s leading fashion retail companies, bringing local fashion brands together under one roof. We proudly promote African designs that reflect the lived experiences of our communities.

Over the years, I have dedicated myself to learning and growing as a fashion entrepreneur:

2020–2021: Completed the 10-month Fashion Retail Readiness Programme by TechnoServe, supported by Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and Santam.
2022: Joined the DUT Innobiz Entrepreneurship Incubation Programme.
2023: Completed the NYDA Start Your Business Programme.
2024: Represented South Africa in the United States-South Africa Student Entrepreneurship Incubator, graduating with Cum Laude honors.
2024: Completed Design Thinking with Innovate Durban.
2024: Nominated for Most Promising Founder Under 30 in the FOYA Global Awards.
2024: Finalist in the eThekwini Municipality Lions’ Den Business Plan Competition.
Our brand has grown steadily.

Don't be ashamed to post your products—even if no one likes or shares them.
No one owes you support, and that’s okay.
Keep showing up, keep advertising. You're not just chasing likes—you’re building a brand, a legacy.

In the end, when you succeed, the same people will say they know you.
Stay consistent. Your future self will thank you
