…”EMandulo kwela Maqaba” is a reimagining of ubuQaba through fashion and song.

For this offering, Zintle Ne-ahtyah Mbuyazwe, a singer-songwriter and African jazz collaborates with VATOH within the context of EMandulo kwela Maqaba, emphasis being on diversity in the arts. An exhibition of traditional Nguni symbols juxtaposed against the sonic indigenous Xhosa music Umombelo (traditional Xhosa vocal singing) and African Jazz form. The apparel incorporates traditional Xhosa dress merging ancient culture with modern forms of expression.
