An absolutely fidgetingly beautiful piece by the artist Pierre. When I was still doing the market this piece is what would draw people's glances. In a world where art and fashion is becoming more generic it is reassuring that pieces like this are still being produced.

Usually a piece of wearable artwork that features a lot of work lacks detail. This piece is a massive exception to this rule. Every part of the Sicilian styled leather jacket has a different story to tell. From the large lyrics on the back to the individual bees there is something new upon each viewing.

The Underground System is a special edition piece in an ongoing series by the South African contemporary artist Aliwanga Gcuma.

This one is an expanded version of his first piece. It features a full 3D wearable art piece on ultra heavy cow hide leather. Hand painted it depicts the artists interpretation of a steampunk system workings.

Sometimes a piece of wearable artwork is so striking even a snake will try it on. Which is hard because they don't have shoulders, or taste in traditional Asian inspired feudal art depictions.

The piece by the Cape Town artist Lili Bo Ming is a truly stunning rendering of a heroine. I see few that really capture my interest are far fewer that are designed to be wearable pieces of painted artwork.

I hate watching slow destruction. Like a car crash. You are seeing it in slow motion, an involuntary observer unable to participate. That's how I feel about the elephant crisis. I cannot help but watch the inevitable destruction and I am totally powerless to intervene. But that's just my interpretation. Everyone sees something different.

If I where to hear the literacy cliche "rooted to the spot", this piece immediately comes to mind. A nightmare where my body is no longer my own. Where un unnatural force has corrupted a part of me causing immobility. A prisoner in myself. But that's just my interpretation. Everyone sees something different.

If I where to happen upon a nymph I am sure it would be far different to the ones my mother told me stories of. The slow death of nature has in turn twisted the shy friends of the forest into bone white horrors. All teeth and claws. But that's just my interpretation. Everyone sees something different.
