Clarissa put our shoes to the test today... again...
We went to (it was an early birthday gift I received), and as usual, I make sure Clarissa was wearing shoes. Little did I know that it would be muddy, and Clarissa thought it was THE BEST THING to walk through all the puddles (like a child does). When I saw her shoes, it was covered in mud, so we decided to take it off and let her go barefoot (even if it was a bit chilly). I left the shoes to dry by themself and in the bit of sunshine we had every no and then. By this afternoon (after being in the warm car) ot was dry and I could dust it off. Still needs a proper clean, but I would say they don't look too bad.

Hello to all the new and old Wander Creations followers...👋
I am fully aware that I have not posted in a very long while, but eish, life is busy!
Busy with a toddler, finding a routine to clean and cook and be present all while working on my business and orders.
I am also busy with some new product designs, our website, and super excited when I will be able to launch it all.
For now, just know that we are still here, still breathing (on some days it doesn't feel like it) and will be launching some exciting news soon (hopefully).

I will share some more behind the scenes photos taken by the amazing team of Foto Asylum Photography of where all the magic of the Wander Creation products and designing happens. Here is a photo of me fitting some sheepskin booties on Clarissa, and Clarissa enjoying how soft it feels.

The past two weeks... sjoh! Its been rough and I haven't even documented half of our orders. Been working non stop, through every nap time and till late in the evenings with all our fathers day orders as well as all our sheepskin orders. All of this while entertaining a busy toddler who loves unpacking boxes or books and toys (meant for her birthday). Still have some orders to complete but super thankful its weekend, long weekend in fact.. some well deserved time to rest.

I am grateful for all the orders we received over the two weeks ♡

We have something new to show you...

Since Clarissa could crawl, she always, and I mean always, crawled to wherever my handbag was so that she could pull it closer to her. Now, since she can walk (and climb onto furniture), she absolutely loves taking my handbag and pretending that it's her own. She will put it over her, unpack it, and repack it.

We started looking for something for her that she could call her own, but it was a struggle finding something that ticked all our boxes (colour, size, length ect ect). So we decided to fill the gap in the market and design a toddler bag.

Available in a dusty pink with a flower motive on the front, selling for R180 each.

Bag Dimentions: 13cm x 16cm

(Nb colour of flower motive differs, but will still have a girly feel to it)

Clarissa letterlik LEWE IN HAAR SKAAPWOL BOOT!

Ek trek dit elke oggend aan en as die dag bietjie warmer word of as ons buite speel, dan sal ek haar skaapwol boot verruil vir haar sandale.

En voor ek vergeet, ons het die sole verander na iets met n bietjie meer grip. Don't know about you maar die besige lyfie KLIM OP ALLES, so iets met meer grip was def nodig. In plaas van n eva sool, het ons nou n rubber sool, nogsteeds dieselfde dukte, ook flexible, en hou beslis die voete warm (sy dra haar skaapwol boot sonder enige sokkies).

Perfekte skoen vir klein voetjies in die koue winter!

So I was thinking and working on a special Mothers Day product... until a friend reminded me that Mother's Day is happening this Sunday 🙃🙈 oops... I thought it's next Sunday... so there is no new product here, at least not now, as orders won't be able to go out in time.

But fear not, I am working on something special for Father's Day ♡

The importance of soft sole shoes...

It is extremely important for babies & toddlers to wear soft sole shoes, especially when they start to walk. This not only protects their feet but also protects and aids the growth and development of the foot. Soft soles allow children to move their feet in a natural way, as they would barefoot, which is crucial for developing the muscles and tendons in their feet.

Babies and toddler's feet are ever changing, and it's important to try and keep the foot in the most natural possible shape.
Yes, going barefoot is the best, but in the times where you need to put on shoes, because they are walking in a public space, or its too cold for just being barefoot, then the next best option is a soft sole.
The flexibility of soft soles encourages children to use their foot muscles more effectively, leading to stronger and more flexible feet.

Dear Wander Creations family ♡

I am very much aware that I have not posted anything in what feels like forever. Life has been really upside down the last couple of months. Life with a baby, or a toddler to be spesific, is busy. But not just that, in the last year, other than keeping another human alive, we moved, not once but twice. Packing up everything, moving to a different house to be closer to my husband's work (so he can have more time with our daughter), settling in, just to hear 6 months later we have to move again, was not easy. We packed up everything, again, and moved (again), only to hear that my husband must now travel more than 80km (one way) for work. What a curveball!

So now my husband barely sees our daughter during the week, 30mins max in the evenings, and that is if we push her bed time till a bit later.. but for now, that works, and the days can get reeeeally busy and reeeeally long, as I am looking after her full time while trying to work.

My aim for this year is to get my social media presence up again and launch our website (which was another bad experience we had).

Sorry for my lack of online presence (and thankful for the support we received during this time). I am looking forward to growing the business and seeing what the future might hold.

I have been asked a few times, "are you still open for orders; you haven't been active on social media in a long time"... It's a daunting question.

Being a full-time mommy and working for myself is challenging. Managing everything myself can get very overwhelming, so to cope with it all, one tends to shift some things one side, just to get through the day. Some days you haven't even brushed your teeth by 3pm, other days you are up and about and ready to face the day by 9am (after we had some breakfast and cleaned up the mess).

Above all of this, beginning June we had to pack up our entire flat and had to moved to a new place end of June. During that time, Clarissa started to crawl (same time we had to pack up) and pull up to stand (same time we had to pack out). It's a month and a half later, and we are still settling in (not that easy with an active baby).

Today our baby is 10 months old. I can't believe it's been 10 months already. Time really does fly by.

I believe it's important to be open and honest to all our followers, explaining where I am in this new journey of motherhood while juggling a small business. To answer your question, YES we do still take orders, we are currently working on ties and thank you gifts for wedding while slowly starting on the stock for .
