We noticed how much you enjoyed seeing how a Groundcover boot is made, so we thought we’d take you behind the scenes of another part of our process—hand-lacing our shoes. 👣
While most of our footwear is stitched using specialist machinery from the Czech Republic, our hand-laced styles are a little different.
Once the shoes leave our factory, they’re sent to skilled ladies in our local community who hand-lace each pair. Many are wives of people who work at Groundcover, while others are women in our community who benefit from an additional source of income.
It’s a small but important part of what we do—supporting the people and community around us, while keeping traditional handcraft alive. 🤎
